For example, we&#8217;ve added early failure detection to help the software recognize and respond quickly to underlying infrastructure disruptions. We&#8217;ve added more preventative measures to ensure success of an upgrade or to help the system recover quickly if something went wrong. The Helm Chart deployment package now integrates upgrades as well. We have also continued to improve other areas of the software, such as the performance of map services at very large scale and internal error detection, logging, and recovery.<\/p>\n"},{"acf_fc_layout":"content","content":"<h2 id=\"upgrade\">How can I upgrade to the 11.1 release on Kubernetes?<\/h2>\n<p>Before performing the upgrade, review the instructions at <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise-k8s.arcgis.com\/en\/latest\/deploy\/system-requirements.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_22FD1CB9E2B44EDC8312A3406AD638CC\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Upgrade and update requirements<\/a>. If you are already running ArcGIS Enterprise 11.0 on Kubernetes, follow the steps in the upgrade process below. If you are deploying to an environment disconnected from the internet, first complete the prerequisite steps for a disconnected environment. If you experience issues or have questions, contact Esri Technical Support.<\/p>\n<h3>Upgrade process<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Review <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise-k8s.arcgis.com\/en\/latest\/deploy\/system-requirements.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_22FD1CB9E2B44EDC8312A3406AD638CC\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Upgrade and update requirements<\/a> to ensure your environment is ready to upgrade.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise-k8s.arcgis.com\/en\/latest\/administer\/create-a-backup.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Take a backup<\/a>, ensuring the retention period is disabled. After the upgrade is complete, the backup can be manually deleted.<\/li>\n<li>If you haven&#8217;t already, apply the ArcGIS Enterprise 11.0 on Kubernetes Q2 2023 Required Update from ArcGIS Enterprise Manager.<\/li>\n<li>From <a href=\"https:\/\/www.esri.com\/en-us\/home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">My Esri<\/a>, download the license file for the 11.1 release on Kubernetes.<\/li>\n<li>From <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise-k8s.arcgis.com\/en\/latest\/administer\/pre-upgrade-script.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">My Esri<\/a>, download the package containing the pre-upgrade script and run the script to prepare your Kubernetes cluster.<\/li>\n<li>From ArcGIS Enterprise Manager, apply the 11.1 upgrade. As part of the upgrade process, you will be asked for the 11.1 license file.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Upgrade in a disconnected environment<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Review <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise-k8s.arcgis.com\/en\/latest\/deploy\/deploy-in-a-disconnected-environment.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_88F872BC415141598594B5D2F26083D6\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Upgrade or update in a disconnected environment<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Refer to the <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise-k8s.arcgis.com\/en\/latest\/introduction\/release-notes.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Release Notes<\/a> to identify the image tags for the 11.0 updates and 11.1 release.
