Migrating Data<\/span><\/strong><\/a> is the third blog in this series. It introduces two new sample tools<\/a> to help with your data management<\/a>.\u00a0 More specifically, how to migrate a personal geodatabase to a file <\/a>geodatabase and, if needed, how to migrate a file geodatabase to a mobile geodatabase<\/a>. Before discussing these two new data migration tools, we’ll first look at a comparison between file-based geodatabase types, characteristics, and their capabilities<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bridging Data<\/span><\/a><\/strong> is the second blog in this series. It guides<\/span>\u00a0you through the experience of how ArcGIS Pro can be used to create <\/span>OLE DB connections to a personal geodatabase (.mdb), Microsoft Access database (.accdb)<\/span>, <\/span>and <\/span>a MySQL database<\/span>, plus reviews <\/span>options available to use and work with this tabular data in ArcGIS Pro<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Are you ready?<\/strong><\/h4>\n

If you haven’t heard, ArcGIS 10.8.2, the current ArcGIS Desktop release, will enter Mature Support in March 2024<\/a>. Mature Support means there will no longer be ArcGIS Desktop software support through patches and hotfixes and instead will only be supported through Technical Support.<\/p>\n

With no plans to release an ArcGIS Desktop 10.9, it’s recommended that you migrate to ArcGIS Pro.\u00a0 This means migrating data from personal geodatabases,<\/a> which are not supported in ArcGIS Pro, into file or mobile geodatabases.<\/p>\n

We realize that some of you may be in a position where you have hundreds of personal geodatabases, and the idea of migrating them all is a little daunting.\u00a0 So, we’ve developed two geoprocessing sample tools to help with the migration process:<\/p>\n
