We used synthetic health records generated by Synthea to simulate the real-world accessibility to care within an insurance provider\u2019s healthcare network. To help focus our analyses on specific areas of high risk, we have added the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.arcgis.com\/home\/item.html?id=6b0e225e56e64959881434ed78ce8240\">CDC Places data<\/a>, curated for us in the ArcGIS Living Atlas, that estimates diabetes prevalence in the greater Los Angeles area. We are also able to see patients that are referred but do not visit a nutritionist, or visit a different nutritionist. We are also able to see some areas that have a high concentration of diabetes do not have a specialist located anywhere nearby.
