Having good metadata makes it easier to find and use quality data, increases accessibility, and ensures effective content sharing.<\/p>\n<p>The new metadata editor provides a streamlined metadata editing experience, with quick visibility of one\u2019s metadata based on the metadata style configured. As highlighted in our last blog, the new editor allows you to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Quickly complete what\u2019s needed, creating essential metadata compliant with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/arcgis-online\/manage-data\/metadata.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_1F1ECCA678DF4D2EBF8E53817BE1C46F\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" aria-describedby=\"new-window\">international open standards<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Complete more robust documentation, including optional metadata elements<\/li>\n<li>Search and find metadata elements<\/li>\n<li>Add thumbnails to items<\/li>\n<li>View, download, and overwrite metadata records<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Enable metadata editing for your organization<\/h2>\n<p>Administrators can <a href=\"https:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/arcgis-online\/administer\/configure-details.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_7FE1F060E03046E692BB36E5F6E3B2AE\">enable and configure metadata settings<\/a> for their organization, allowing item owners to edit metadata for their items based on the metadata style configured.
