Here\u2019s a run down of what\u2019s new:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"#tablet-app\">Briefings tablet app<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#links\">Easier link creation<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#briefings\">More briefings updates<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#tables\">Table enhancements<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#more\">And more&#8230;<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1 id=\"tablet-app\" style=\"scroll-margin-top: 70px;\">Briefings tablet app<\/h1>\n<p>A few weeks ago, the ArcGIS StoryMaps Briefings tablet app (beta) was released. This app lets you view and download briefings you\u2019ve created with ArcGIS StoryMaps on an Android tablet or iPad to take them on the go!<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re currently working on a big feature that\u2019s coming to briefings and its tablet app in the future: the ability to configure offline versions of your maps! Anywhere you can create a link to another web page, which now includes the briefing builder, you\u2019ll notice the improved workflow. There\u2019s more space to see and easily edit the entire link, even if the link is very long. This was done by copying one of the heading links you can get while viewing a story, then going back to the builder to paste it there. Today, this workflow gets a lot easier. Now, in the story builder, you\u2019ll see a new link option that lets you link directly to a heading. When you select this option, you\u2019ll see a list of all the headings in your story and you can simply pick one to create a link to that part of the story.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n"},{"acf_fc_layout":"kaltura","video_id":"1_by24iou5","time":false,"start":0,"stop":""},{"acf_fc_layout":"content","content":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A similar ability has been added to for briefings. In the briefing builder, you\u2019ll see the <strong>Slide<\/strong> link option is no longer labeled as &#8220;coming soon.\u201d It is now activated and lets you pick a slide to link to in your briefing. You can even link to the cover slide.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s a video that shows all the new linking options in briefings.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n"},{"acf_fc_layout":"kaltura","video_id":"1_iq51z8sr","time":false,"start":0,"stop":""},{"acf_fc_layout":"content","content":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1 id=\"briefings\" style=\"scroll-margin-top: 70px;\">More briefings updates<\/h1>\n<p>Over the last few weeks we\u2019ve been busy adding new features and capabilities for briefings. The way text overflow is handled on slides has been improved, so you can now more easily see and interact with text when it spills over the bottom edge of a slide. Also, you are now able to navigate a briefing using the PageUp and PageDown keys. These are the keys that most Bluetooth slide remotes (also known as slide \u201cclickers\u201d) use, so if you had a slide remote that didn\u2019t work before, be sure to try it again because it\u2019s very likely that it will now enable you to navigate your briefing from anywhere in the room! Finally, briefings are now available for anyone using an ArcGIS public account.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1 id=\"tables\" style=\"scroll-margin-top: 70px;\">Table enhancements<\/h1>\n<p>Tables were added to ArcGIS StoryMaps <a href=\"https:\/\/www.esri.com\/arcgis-blog\/products\/story-maps\/constituent-engagement\/whats-new-in-arcgis-storymaps-august-2023\/\">a few months ago<\/a>. Since then they have gained the ability to <strong>align text<\/strong>, and <strong>undo<\/strong> support has been added to all table actions, so it&#8217;s easy to rollback any mistakes or changes you don&#8217;t want to keep. We\u2019ve seen many great examples of tables created by the storytelling community. This option can be helpful when a story appears in a collection and the \u201chide cover\u201d option is used.<\/p>\n<p>For a full list of what\u2019s new in ArcGIS StoryMaps and what bugs have been squashed, check out the <a href=\"https:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/arcgis-storymaps\/reference\/release-notes.htm\">release notes<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Lastly, ArcGIS StoryMaps has updated to the latest version of the <a href=\"https:\/\/developers.arcgis.com\/javascript\/latest\/\">ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript<\/a>, which was released earlier this week.
