ArcGIS <\/span>AllSource<\/span> 1.2 is here and with this release come<\/span> significant <\/span>updates to <\/span>workflows<\/span>. <\/span>The first is <\/span><\/span>Simplified <\/span>Feature Creatio<\/span>n<\/span><\/span><\/strong>, c<\/span>reating features <\/span>can often feel complex <\/span>to<\/span> non-GIS professionals without training<\/span> or experience with GIS software<\/span>. <\/span>U<\/span>sers<\/span> now <\/span>have access to a <\/span>quick and simplified feature<\/span>–<\/span>creating experience<\/span>. The second <\/span>is <\/span><\/span>Military Overlay<\/span><\/span><\/strong>, <\/span>where<\/span> creating and editing military symbols has been <\/span>overhauled<\/span> from <\/span>previous<\/span> military symbol editors.<\/span> Additionally, you can connect to ArcGIS Video Server <\/strong>to\u00a0stream videos<\/span> through your ArcGIS Enterpr<\/span>ise p<\/span>ortal<\/span>. <\/span>Lastly, <\/span>don\u2019t<\/span> forget to update to .NET8 and WebView2 Runtime, as these are prerequisite insta<\/span>llations <\/span>for ArcGIS <\/span>AllSource<\/span> 1.2<\/span>.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Simplified Feature Creation<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

Simplified Feature Creation is designed as an intuitive editing experience with new capabilities enabled once the new <\/span>Edit mode<\/span><\/b> is activated. When <\/span>Edit mode<\/span><\/b> is activated, editing tools are ready to use from the <\/span>Mapview toolbar<\/span><\/b>. In addition, the <\/span>Edit <\/span><\/b>pane <\/span>allows for quick editing of a feature\u2019s attributes.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As the <\/span>Edit tab<\/span><\/b> appears <\/span>(1)<\/span><\/b>, you\u2019ll notice a new group, the <\/span>New Features<\/span><\/b> group <\/span>(2)<\/strong>. The <\/span>New Features<\/span><\/b> group includes geometry choices that you can create on the map <\/span>right away. In this example, I have chosen a <\/span>New Point Layer<\/span><\/b> and a<\/span> New Polygon Layer <\/span><\/b>(2)<\/span><\/b>. When a desired geometry is chosen, the feature appears in the <\/span>Contents <\/span><\/b>pane<\/span> (3)<\/span><\/b>. Using the <\/span>Mapview toolbar <\/span><\/b>(4)<\/span><\/b>, you can quickly choose tools associated with a chosen geometry and the <\/span>Edit Feature <\/span><\/b>pane<\/span> (5)<\/span><\/b> appears, allowing for quick attribute editing. As you create features, the <\/span>Edit Feature <\/span><\/b>pane<\/span> updates with the attributes of the most recent feature and creates an OBJECTID and an automatic labeling field. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Military Overlay<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

Military Overlay<\/strong> creates symbols using military symbology standards. Once a symbol is searched, it can be edited to fit a specific symbology and saved as a favorite for further use or to disseminate to others in an organization.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

You can access <\/span>Military Overlay<\/span><\/b> by opening the<\/span> Edit<\/span><\/b> tab.<\/span> Begin by<\/span> clicking the <\/span>Edit<\/span><\/b> button on the <\/span>Map<\/span><\/b> tab.
