She is passionate about solving problems and making products that delight customers and users.","user_avatar":"<img alt='' src='https:\/\/secure.gravatar.com\/avatar\/29841777a7e5be643e46adaa9c75227decb3f823be44e1cd24af844a66307a8c?s=96&#038;d=blank&#038;r=g' srcset='https:\/\/secure.gravatar.com\/avatar\/29841777a7e5be643e46adaa9c75227decb3f823be44e1cd24af844a66307a8c?s=192&#038;d=blank&#038;r=g 2x' class='avatar avatar-96 photo' height='96' width='96' loading='lazy' decoding='async'\/>"}],"short_description":"ArcGIS Explorer on Windows platform to retire.","flexible_content":[{"acf_fc_layout":"content","content":"<p><strong>ArcGIS Explorer on the Windows platform<\/strong> is officially in <a href=\"https:\/\/support.esri.com\/en-us\/knowledge-base\/deprecation-arcgis-explorer-on-windows-platform-000033693\">deprecation<\/a> and scheduled to retire on <strong>Oct 1<sup>st<\/sup>, 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>During this phase of deprecation, ArcGIS Explorer will continue to be available and supported but will not receive any enhancements.<\/p>\n<p>Upon retirement on Oct 1<sup>st<\/sup>, 2025, Esri will discontinue technical support and it will be removed from the app stores.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why is Explorer on Windows being retired? <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.esri.com\/en-us\/arcgis\/products\/arcgis-field-maps\/overview\">ArcGIS Field Maps<\/a> <\/strong>launched in the fall of 2020 (on Android and iOS) as the next generation successor to several of Esri\u2019s field apps, including Explorer.<\/p>\n<p>Since then, all development efforts have been invested into Field Maps.<\/p>\n<p>ArcGIS Explorer on iOS and Android was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.esri.com\/arcgis-blog\/products\/collector\/field-mobility\/deprecation-notice-for-selected-field-apps\/\">retired<\/a> on December 31<sup>st<\/sup>, 2021. Explorer on Windows will now be retired in Oct 2025.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Migration to Field Maps<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Esri recommends that customers migrate to ArcGIS Field Maps on either Android or iOS. There are no plans to build a native app on Windows at this time.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.esri.com\/content\/dam\/esrisites\/en-us\/media\/pdf\/implementation-guides\/field-maps-migration-guide.pdf\">ArcGIS Field Maps Migration guide<\/a> details patterns to support this transition.<\/p>\n<p>There are alternative ArcGIS applications which are available on the Windows\u2019s platform including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Survey123, ArcGIS QuickCapture, and ArcGIS Earth, as well as ArcGIS web applications including but not limited to ArcGIS Experience Builder, ArcGIS Instant Apps, and ArcGIS Web Editor.<\/p>\n<p>For additional Windows solutions we have an extensive
