For more information, see the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.esri.com\/en-us\/arcgis\/products\/arcgis-storymaps\/product-road-map\">Product road map<\/a>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Over the last several months, the Story Maps Team has focused on improving the accessibility of stories created with Esri&#8217;s Story Map templates. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.esri.com\/arcgis-blog\/products\/story-maps\/announcements\/whats-new-in-story-maps-june-2018\/\">June 2018 update<\/a> marks the release of additional work in this area.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s a list of enhancements added in this update:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"padding-bottom: 12px;\"><em>Story Map Series<\/em> has improved keyboard navigation and the default theme for each layout meets WCAG 2.0 AA contrast guidelines<\/li>\n<li style=\"padding-bottom: 12px;\"><em>Story Map Cascade<\/em> and <em>Story Map Series<\/em> provide authors the ability to add alternative text for media elements<\/li>\n<li style=\"padding-bottom: 12px;\"><em>Story Map Series, Story Map Tour,<\/em> and <em>Story Map Shortlist<\/em> have improved screen reader support<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Several existing blog articles have been updated to provide more information about these new features; see the links to related articles, below.<\/p>\n"}],"authors":[{"ID":5441,"user_firstname":"Owen","user_lastname":"Evans","nickname":"Owen Evans","user_nicename":"oevans","display_name":"Owen Evans","user_email":"OEvans@esri.com","user_url":"","user_registered":"2018-03-02 00:17:09","user_description":"Owen is the lead product engineer for ArcGIS StoryMaps and has been with Esri since 2004.
