By inputting specifications for the information we wanted to capture, the AI, using large language models, provided a draft survey in seconds.<em> \u00a0 finalized, published survey was integrated directly into our web map interface, allowing analysts on the Indo-Pacific monitoring team to submit new requests seamlessly. The submitted requests are sent to our organization\u2019s data steward, who integrates the requested data into our shared content using <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.arcgis.com\/en\/portal\/latest\/use\/share-items.htm\">group sharing capabilities in ArcGIS.<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Integrate external data sources automatically<\/h2>\n<p>Once gaps in data have been identified and new information requested to fill them, we can <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.arcgis.com\/en\/notebook\/latest\/administer\/linux\/automate-notebook-execution.htm\">automate the task<\/a> of pulling data from external souces using <a href=\"https:\/\/www.esri.com\/en-us\/arcgis\/products\/arcgis-notebooks\/overview\">ArcGIS Notebooks<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/pro.arcgis.com\/en\/pro-app\/latest\/arcpy\/get-started\/arcgis-api-for-python.htm\">ArcGIS API for Python<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The open source GDELT (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gdeltproject.org\/\">Global Database of Events, Language, and Tone<\/a>) event data captures events by monitoring news media across a variety of platforms.\u00a0 We queried GDELT\u2019s API and created a feature layer in our portal from the response. GDELT updates this data on a 15-minute interval, so we scheduled a Notebook task to run every 15 minutes, updating the associated feature layer with the most recent GDELT reporting. The feature layer is then shared to a group, making the dynamic, conditioned dataset available at a programmatic level\u2014all
