We continue to improve ArcGIS Excalibur\u2019s functionality to help you organize and reference geo-enabled images and video.<\/p>\n<p>At 11.4, you can license ArcGIS Excalibur through a Creator, Professional, or Professional Plus user type. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.esri.com\/en-us\/arcgis\/products\/user-types\/overview\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Read more here<\/a> about how user types help you create insights by accessing the geospatial capabilities you need.<\/p>\n"},{"acf_fc_layout":"content","content":"<h4 id=\"folders\"><strong>Persistent Volume as folder-based data stores<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>A long-awaited improvement to data storage on Kubernetes, we now expose data folders as persistent volumes (PVs). This allows you to register them as folder data stores. This gives you flexibility to choose the network file system version and mount options, or to register a share using SMB protocol, the default file-sharing protocol for Windows operating systems.<\/p>\n<p>From a performance perspective, moving data to be closer to service pods will typically improve performance. For example, geocoding services benefit from local volumes. Now you can configure this through ArcGIS Enterprise Manager.<\/p>\n"},{"acf_fc_layout":"content","content":"<h4 id=\"export\"><strong>Migrate items or a service definition<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>We\u2019ve included many improvements to help you manage your data and export or migrate services. <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise-k8s.arcgis.com\/en\/latest\/introduction\/whats-new.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_5FC853C86D1E483EA9C617957E75259C\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Read more here<\/a>. A few highlights include:<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/developers.arcgis.com\/rest\/services-reference\/enterprise\/export-service\/\">export service<\/a>\u00a0operation exports a service definition for a map service (both by-reference and by-value) or a hosted feature service. The resulting service definition can then be published to a new\u00a0ArcGIS Enterprise\u00a0organization. When publishing the service definition to the new organization, there is an option to preserve the service&#8217;s item ID values.<\/p>\n<p>Migrate and back up group content by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise-k8s.arcgis.com\/en\/latest\/administer\/migrate-group-content.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_C30D73392D964D51A8B606128A8A6E8F\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">exporting items<\/a>\u00a0to an export package (.epk) and using the package to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise-k8s.arcgis.com\/en\/latest\/administer\/migrate-group-content.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_D8B251B5D67449B3B4037BA150173F22\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">import the items<\/a>\u00a0into groups in the same or different organizations.<\/p>\n"},{"acf_fc_layout":"content","content":"<h4 id=\"pod\"><strong>Manage pod placement on nodes<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/kubernetes.io\/docs\/concepts\/architecture\/nodes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">node<\/a> is a computing unit of like virtual or physical machines in a traditional environment, that lets you scale and tune your microservices. You might want to assign specific workflows such as routing problems, deep learning, or image processing on different node pools, to optimize performance or cost. Or you may want to ease the assignment of workflows to different geographically located node pools, to achieve geographic redundancy and increase system resilience.
