Perhaps you&#8217;d prefer to start with a polygon and refine it? No problem! You can save an extract of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.arcgis.com\/home\/item.html?id=f1f45a3ba37a4f03a5f48d7454e4b654\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">National Hydrography Dataset Plus High Resolution<\/a> polygons, or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.arcgis.com\/home\/item.html?id=050d4dd33df7462db3ea3b76c1320462\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">National Wetlands Inventory<\/a> polygons, or OpenStreetmap polygons, and use the <em>reshape<\/em> and <em>continue<\/em> tools to hone it to your required exquisite precision. Here&#8217;s a great tip I got from Hanz Azazel over on YouTube: consider using detailed lidar <a href=\"https:\/\/www.arcgis.com\/home\/item.html?id=c3587bd89d474dff8d306fefdc295083\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">terrain hillshade<\/a> to tease out the locations of those river banks.<\/p>\n<p>However you get the ball rolling, get ready for blazing fast digitizing with the streaming option for polygon shaping.
