ArcGIS Explorer on Windows is officially retired and no longer supported by Esri.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

We announced<\/a> in October 2024 that we would be retiring ArcGIS Explorer on Windows. The Explorer<\/strong> on Windows app will continue to work on devices where it is installed, but please note that it will not be supported or further enhanced. The app will be removed from the Microsoft app store on Oct 1, 2025.<\/p>\n

Why is Explorer on Windows being retired? <\/strong><\/p>\n

ArcGIS Field Maps<\/a> <\/strong>launched in the fall of 2020 (on Android and iOS) as the next generation successor to several of Esri\u2019s field apps, including Explorer.<\/p>\n

Since then, enhancements of Explorer\u00a0have ceased and all development efforts have been invested into Field Maps.<\/p>\n

Explorer on iOS and Android was retired<\/a> on December 31st<\/sup>, 2021.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Migration to Field Maps<\/strong><\/p>\n

Esri recommends that customers migrate to ArcGIS Field Maps on either Android or iOS. There are no plans to build a native app on Windows at this time.<\/p>\n

The ArcGIS Field Maps Migration guide<\/a> details patterns to support this transition.<\/p>\n

There are alternative ArcGIS applications which are available on the Windows\u2019s platform including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Survey123, ArcGIS QuickCapture, and ArcGIS Earth, as well as ArcGIS web applications including but not limited to ArcGIS Experience Builder, ArcGIS Instant Apps, and ArcGIS Web Editor.<\/p>\n

For additional Windows solutions we have an extensive partner network and custom Windows solutions can be developed using the ArcGIS Maps SDK for .Net: https:\/\/developers.arcgis.com\/net\/<\/a><\/p>\n
