They&#8217;re stored with the <em>layer<\/em>, and can easily be created or managed in <strong>Field Maps Designer<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Map Viewer<\/strong>, or\u00a0<strong>ArcGIS Pro<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/developers.arcgis.com\/rest\/services-reference\/enterprise\/shared-templates\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Shared templates<\/strong><\/a>, on the other hand, are gaining traction. Until now, these highly configurable templates could only be authored in<strong> ArcGIS Pro<\/strong> and use was limited to <strong>ArcGIS Enterprise<\/strong>. In <strong>ArcGIS Pro,<\/strong> you can set default construction tools, default values, and author specialized templates to create multiple features at once, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Group templates-<\/strong> generate multiple features from a single sketch. Group and preset templates are still created in ArcGIS Pro for now, but more options are coming soon. In the mean time, let&#8217;s explore what&#8217;s possible <strong>today<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Real World Example<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><em>Picture this:<\/em> Data editors start work in a new Project Area and need <a href=\"https:\/\/www.esri.com\/arcgis-blog\/products\/arcgis-online\/data-management\/templates-faster-editing-oh-my\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">default values<\/a> updated- so fields like <strong>Project Area<\/strong> fill in automatically. Now, you can make that change in Map Viewer, and your team sees it instantly.
