ArcGIS Velocity for ArcGIS Enterprise has functional parity for feeds and real-time analytics with ArcGIS Velocity for ArcGIS Online and enables the same real-time workflows as ArcGIS GeoEvent Server. The ArcGIS Enterprise deployment of ArcGIS Velocity provides real-time capabilities for users who require self-hosted environments on Windows and Linux, but it will not contain big data analytics.<\/p>\n<h3>New functionality for ArcGIS Velocity at ArcGIS Enterprise 12.1<\/h3>\n<p>The enhancements in this section will not be available in ArcGIS Velocity for ArcGIS Online and are only available for self-hosted capabilities.<\/p>\n<p>The following feed types are now supported by Velocity:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/doc.esri.com\/en\/arcgis-velocity\/latest\/ingest\/tcp-client-f.html?pivots=os-windows\"><strong>TCP (Client)<\/strong><\/a> feed in Velocity receives events from a TCP server formatted as XML, JSON, or delimited text through a TCP socket connection. This feed provides functional equivalency with ArcGIS GeoEvent Server and supports reliable, continuous ingestion of streaming data where guaranteed delivery is required. It is well-suited for enterprise and operational systems where data integrity is critical.<\/li>\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/doc.esri.com\/en\/arcgis-velocity\/latest\/ingest\/watch-a-folder-for-local-files.html?pivots=os-windows\"><strong>Watch a Folder for Local Files<\/strong><\/a> feed in Velocity is used to read event data from a local file. This feed provides the same functionality that exists in ArcGIS GeoEvent Server. It enables ingestion of file-based data from on-premises systems, legacy workflows, and fully disconnected environments without external network connectivity.
