See an example below in the section: <a href=\"#geodatabase-administration-dialog\">Version locks via Geodatabase Administration dialog<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Another option via the service, is the <a href=\"https:\/\/developers.arcgis.com\/rest\/services-reference\/enterprise\/version\/\">version<\/a> resource \u2013 it\u2019s been around since the inception of the VMS at ArcGIS Enterprise 10.6. This capability indicates support for the following endpoints that provide details on version locks for a service:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>locks resource<\/li>\n<li>lockInfos operation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>New endpoints &#8211; locks\/lockInfos<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Let\u2019s dive into these endpoints a little more, so you can get familiar with them.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/developers.arcgis.com\/rest\/services-reference\/enterprise\/locks\/\"><strong>Locks resource<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nThe locks resource represents all the locks on versions in a version management service that the current user has access to. Values: read or write.<\/li>\n<li>includeHiddenVersions\u2013 Specifies whether to return locks of versions with hidden access. Values: true or false (default).<\/li>\n<li>includeExpiredLocks \u2013 Specifies whether to return locks that are expired based on the lockDate and lockDuration. Values: true or false (default).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The JSON response for the <strong>lockInfos<\/strong> operation will include the following about the version locks \u2013 notice the same 4 lock properties from the locks resource plus several additional properties shown in bold:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>versionName<\/li>\n<li>versionGuid<\/li>\n<li>lockOwner<\/li>\n<li>lockType<\/li>\n<li><strong>sessionId<\/strong> \u2013 A unique client-generated identifier used to maintain a consistent read\/edit session and enforce locking on a version.<\/li>\n<li><strong>lockDate<\/strong> \u2013 The date\/timestamp (unix timestamp in milliseconds) of when the lock was acquired or refreshed.<\/li>\n<li><strong>lockDuration<\/strong> \u2013 the lock duration (in hours)<\/li>\n<li><strong>canPost<\/strong> \u2013 true\/false \u2013 Default is false. Set to true after a reconcile operation and set to false after the post operation is performed. Version locks that are expired (older than 4 hours from the lockDate) are not included by default. To access this dialog, you\u2019ll need a database connection that is established by the geodatabase administrator. In the Geodatabase Administration dialog, version locks can be viewed on the Locks tab by filtering using a <strong>Lock Type<\/strong> of <strong>Version<\/strong>. This can be helpful in situations where a user receives an error attempting an operation and they want to inspect the version locks on the service to see who is accessing a version and the properties of that lock. Another use case is to use the lockInfos operation with the versionNameFilter to inspect the version lock properties to ensure it is safe to remove all locks on a version prior to using the <a href=\"https:\/\/developers.arcgis.com\/rest\/services-reference\/enterprise\/purge-lock\/\">purgeLock<\/a> operation. When authoring custom applications that utilize long transaction editing, you can also take advantage of these endpoints to audit the version locks for your sessions to make sure that you are properly releasing locks (via stopEditing\/stopReading operations).<\/p>\n<p>We hope you are able to take advantage of these endpoint to help with your monitoring and management of version locks for your
