Multiple choice inputs can streamline the form entry process and reduce the number of fields required to capture the information needed.<\/p>\n<p>Within Field Maps Designer, <strong>Multiple choice<\/strong> is a new <a href=\"https:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/field-maps\/latest\/prepare-maps\/configure-the-form.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_C9751DC99CE04A14ACAE75DE12E05C75\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">choice<\/a> form element type found in the <strong>Choice<\/strong> section of the <strong>Form builder<\/strong>. Grabbing the element by it&#8217;s handles, drag it onto the form canvas to set it&#8217;s properties. Multiple choice inputs are stored as comma-delimited text in a string field. The combined length of choice values and delimiters is constrained to fit within the field so choose a length that has room to support the various choices the field will support.<\/p>\n<p>Choices include both a label (displayed choice) and a code (stored choice). As with other lists, it&#8217;s possible to enter each choice manually or import values from a csv file. If considering applying a Multiple choice input type to an existing string field, it is possible to generate the list of choice values from existing field values. If the string field includes a coded-value domain, the domain will need to be removed from the field first.<\/p>\n<p>Optional properties include setting a minimum and maximum number of choices, a &#8220;Select all&#8221; option, and including an &#8220;Other&#8221; option. Attachments have always been associated with an individual feature or table row but not considered part of the form, until now.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/field-maps\/latest\/prepare-maps\/configure-the-form.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_32C758216BEE4E87B8318AAAB453B264\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Attachment elements<\/a> allow authors to define how attachments are included in their Field Maps workflows. There are three input types for Attachment elements: General, Document, and Media. All input types share a common set of properties with other form elements like display name, description and support of logic.<\/p>\n<p>New common properties across types:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Keywords &#8211; an essential part of defining an attachment\u2019s appearance in the form and in a pop-up. Keywords indicate how and where the attachment is represented during data collection. Along with the attachment type, they also determine how attachments can be filtered in pop-ups.<\/li>\n<li>Minimum\/Maximum count &#8211; control the number of attachments captured. Setting a minimum value indicates that the mobile worker needs to upload a minimum number of attachments before they can submit changes.<\/li>\n<li>File name &#8211; each attachment has a file name that describes it. A new <strong>Form Attachment Filename Calculation<\/strong> arcade profile can be used to set the file name. The profile includes a number of profile variables common to other profiles for forms like $map, $layer, $feature, $originalFeature, $featureSet, $datastore and $editcontext. Each element has a default expression that combines the attachment Keyword and time it was captured.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Unique properties by attachment input type:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>General<\/strong> &#8211; allows capture of all 4 types of attachments. Choose how existing attachments, if present, are displayed in the form.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Document<\/strong> &#8211; allows file upload of documents. Specify the maximum document file size (in MB).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Media<\/strong> &#8211; allows uploading of either photos, audio, or video. Only one type of input is supported per form element. This is where GPS metadata is important. ArcGIS Field Maps includes a pre-defined set of <a href=\"https:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/field-maps\/latest\/prepare-maps\/high-accuracy-data-collection.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">GPS metadata<\/a> attributes that are automatically captured when using a GNSS receiver.<\/p>\n<p>New GPS metadata attributes included in the June release:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Application settings:\n<ul>\n<li>95% accuracy applied &#8211; when evaluating horizontal and vertical accuracy, this setting indicates if it is based on RMS or if the confidence conversion factor is applied.<\/li>\n<li>Location profile horizontal datum transformation &#8211; name of the horizontal datum transformation if set within the location profile settings.<\/li>\n<li>Location profile horizontal datum transformation applied &#8211; indicates if a horizontal transformation was applied by the location profile, including the following possible values: 0\u2014No, 1\u2014Yes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Elevation attributes:\n<ul>\n<li>Antenna height (applied by various providers)- value in meters, specified when capturing accurate elevation values.<\/li>\n<li>Orthometric height (applied by Trimble GNSS receivers only at the 26.2 release)<\/li>\n<li>Receiver geoid model &#8211; (applied by Trimble GNSS receivers only at the 26.2 release)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Tilt attributes (applied by Trimble GNSS receivers only at the 26.2 release with tilt-capable receivers only):\n<ul>\n<li>Tilt compensated &#8211; was the location captured with tilt compensation<\/li>\n<li>Tilt angle (\u00b0) &#8211; tilt angle applied<\/li>\n<li>Tilt angle accuracy (\u00b0) &#8211; tilt angle accuracy measured<\/li>\n<li>Tilt azimuth (\u00b0) &#8211; direction of tilt<\/li>\n<li>Tilt azimuth accuracy (\u00b0) &#8211; measured accuracy of tilt direction<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Correction source information (included but not yet applied by any provider):\n<ul>\n<li>Correction source type &#8211; type of correction applied (Direct IP, NTRIP, PPP. etc)<\/li>\n<li>Correction source name &#8211; name of the correction source (example &#8220;Galileo HAS&#8221;)<\/li>\n<li>Correction age &#8211; time delay between when a base station calculates positional corrections and when those corrections are successfully applied by your mobile receiver (in seconds)<\/li>\n<li>NTRIP mount point &#8211; specific access gateway used when connecting via NTRIP<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It&#8217;s important to <a href=\"https:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/field-maps\/11.2\/prepare-maps\/high-accuracy-data-collection.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_C992B4FE465A4AFAB98A4972E336E808\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Prepare your data to record GPS metadata<\/a>. Task filters are powered by an expression that evaluates task attributes to determine which task features appear in the list and on the map. By default, filters are provided for tasks that are \u201cAssigned to me\u201d, \u201cUnassigned\u201d, and \u201cCompleted\u201d. Map authors can define their own filters or add\/modify the default ones. When a filter is applied, the list is sorted by one of several field values or by distance away from the mobile user.<\/p>\n<p>With the June release, map authors can now modify the sort behavior using <a href=\"https:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/field-maps\/latest\/prepare-maps\/configure-tasks.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_B0F0D400241A4F7E9760B68BD0273201\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Edit sort by<\/a> settings that configure how lists are sorted. For example, a water utility may want to drive their hydrant inspection list by pressure zone where each hydrant in a zone needs to be completed in a specific order. The order can be managed in a separate &#8220;Inspection order&#8221; field with values unique per pressure zone. When mobile users open the online map, layers would switch to the named version specified. Search is always available and honors what is configured in the map.<\/p>\n<p>With this release, Field Maps includes several improvements to the search experience for both the mobile worker\u00a0and the\u00a0map author.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mobile worker improvements<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Field Maps mobile app improvements center on how search performs a query and processes results so that the mobile worker can receive all results requested. The experience is further optimized by the number of data sources configured.<\/p>\n<p>Searching for features <strong>By layer<\/strong> used to provide a maximum of 12 results. As with other data sources, they were the nearest <strong>12 results<\/strong> from the center of the map. With the June update, when search is configured with multiple data sources (By layer and By address) results preview to 3 results and the data source section header includes a visual indicator of how many results were found in the layer (3 of 36 for example). Tapping the <strong>More<\/strong> button will expand the results list to include all results matching the defined query. If search is configured to only search using the By layer data source, Field Maps will optimize the results to instantly show all results and not limit to preview of 3.<\/p>\n<p><strong>By address<\/strong> search (enabled by default) is configured to query against the top-most, or first, locator set in the Geocoding section of the Utility services tab in the organization settings. With the integrated search experience, By address search results are organized into a data source category called <strong>Places<\/strong>. Similar to By layer search, results from By address search preview to <strong>3 results<\/strong>\u00a0with a maximum of\u00a0<strong>50 results<\/strong>. When entering the search text, Field Maps will reply with suggestions as discovered and then place results in the Places category when search is executed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Map author improvements<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The search configuration is stored in the web map and until the June 2026 release configuring the search experience for a map required exiting Field Maps Designer or opening a separate browser tab, navigating to the item details, and opening the item details &gt; settings page and configure the experience from within the Application settings section. Designer now includes the same <a href=\"https:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/field-maps\/latest\/prepare-maps\/configure-the-map.htm#ESRI_SECTION2_DFED8A8F4A664B57A7FA8D27E6CBF048\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">search configuration experience<\/a> inside of the <strong>Map<\/strong>\u00a0section of the\u00a0<strong>App settings tab<\/strong> so its no longer required to exit Designer to make changes to the search experience.<\/p>\n<p>As mentioned above, the Search tool is always available in the Field Maps mobile app and by default supports coordinate search, search of any favorites created on device, and place search (when connected). Configuring the search capability can provide a focused experience that helps mobile workers find the information they need in the map when they need
