The most recent updates to this article reflect changes to the organization status dashboard in ArcGIS Online.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Credits are the currency of ArcGIS, and are consumed for specific transactions, such as performing analytics and storing features. You can consume credits when working in ArcGIS Online or when interacting with ArcGIS Online while using other ArcGIS products such as ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, and ArcGIS Business Analyst.<\/p>\n<p>ArcGIS Online offers tools and workflows that help you manage credits and monitor credit usage in your ArcGIS Online organization. This article offers credit management tips and best practices for organization administrators and members.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"administrators\"><strong>Tips for administrators <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3>1. Enable credit budgeting<\/h3>\n<p>Administrators can allocate credits to users by <a href=\"https:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/arcgis-online\/administer\/configure-credits.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_B5EFEED377214C4E96236C121A528F7B\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">enabling credit budgeting<\/a>, which has the following benefits:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Allows administrators to assign a specific quantity of credits to each member. Credit budgets can be assigned to members during the <a href=\"https:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/arcgis-online\/administer\/invite-users.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">invitation process<\/a> or at any time through the <a href=\"https:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/arcgis-online\/administer\/manage-members.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_E36DC11579664B8C88DE0C69F516927F\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Organization page Members tab<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Allows members to see their available credits on their <a href=\"https:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/arcgis-online\/get-started\/profile.htm\">settings page<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Gives members the flexibility to use credits any way they choose.<\/li>\n<li>Displays an additional column of information on the Organization page <strong>Members<\/strong> tab that shows administrators the number of credits remaining for each member.<\/li>\n<li>Helps members avoid mistakes by preventing transactions that would consume too many credits.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Turn on credit budgeting by clicking <strong>Organization<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Settings<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Credits<\/strong>, and turning on the <strong>Enable credit budgeting tools<\/strong> toggle button. You can download this information as a CSV file to save and share as needed. As mentioned in the previous section, feature storage is calculated for the organization, not individual members, and is charged hourly. If you are concerned about storing a large or complex item, upload the item and ask an administrator to run an <a href=\"https:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/arcgis-online\/reference\/report-fields.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_41ABB66B8185459DBE9252C6F86836E4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">item report<\/a> in an hour to check the item\u2019s storage cost.
