If you are unclear about anything in this recipe, consult the lesson.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>1. ArcGIS Pro, with either the Spatial Analyst or Image Analyst extensions<\/p>\n<p>2. Elevation <a href=\"https:\/\/pro.arcgis.com\/en\/pro-app\/help\/data\/imagery\/essential-imagery-and-raster-terms.htm\">raster<\/a> data.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You can use the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.arcgis.com\/home\/item.html?id=58a541efc59545e6b7137f961d7de883\">Terrain Imagery Layer<\/a> from Living Atlas, which has coverage of the entire world.<\/li>\n<li>You can use your own data. You need a raster layer where each cell has an elevation value. A Digital Elevation Model (DEM) is ideal.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Process:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>1. Zoom to your area of interest.<\/p>\n<p>2. Remove the original Terrain layer from the map.<\/p>\n<p>4. Use the <strong>Con<\/strong> tool with your new <strong>Terrain.tif<\/strong> layer to assign a value of 1 to low lying areas and a value of 0 to high ground.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Add an expression like this: <strong>Where VALUE is less than or equal to 3<\/strong>. 3 is an arbitrary value representing the storm surge. If you want to map a 5 meter storm surge, change this value to 5.<\/li>\n<li>For <strong>Input true raster or constant value<\/strong>, type <em>1<\/em>.
