Since then there have been several Story Maps with 3D content (&#8230;Story Scenes?) published like <a href=\"http:\/\/arcg.is\/1Qr8TMi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">this one from the Trust for Public Land<\/a>\u00a0and <a href=\"http:\/\/arcg.is\/1DN1kaT\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">this one from Donegal, Ireland&#8217;s GIS department<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/arcg.is\/1Qr8TMi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-52089\" src=\"https:\/\/www.esri.com\/arcgis-blog\/app\/uploads\/2015\/07\/2015-07-17-at-3.24.48-PM-300x181.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"181\" \/><\/a>\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/arcg.is\/1DN1kaT\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-52084\" src=\"https:\/\/www.esri.com\/arcgis-blog\/app\/uploads\/2015\/07\/2015-07-17-at-3.19.31-PM-300x180.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"180\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>With the <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.esri.com\/esri\/arcgis\/2015\/07\/09\/whats-new-in-arcgis-online-july-2015\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">July 2015 release of ArcGIS Online<\/a> you now have an additional option when embedding a web scene in a Map Journal or Map Series app: you can now <strong>choose the slide<\/strong> to show when the scene is loaded. (Not sure how to make scene slides? There&#8217;s help for that <a href=\"http:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/arcgis-online\/create-maps\/capture-scene-slides.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Specify the slide to show in an embedded web scene<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Follow the same procedure in the <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.esri.com\/esri\/arcgis\/2015\/03\/20\/using-web-scenes-in-story-maps\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">previous blog post<\/a>\u00a0and add a parameter to the URL to specify the slide number; specifically, add a pound symbol (#) and the index number of the slide in your scene. For example, the URL below would show the <strong><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\">fifth slide<\/span><\/strong> in the scene:<\/p>\n<pre>https:\/\/www.arcgis.com\/...\/viewer.html?webscene=ec20f...45402cda7&amp;ui=min<span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>#5<\/strong><\/span><\/pre>\n<p>A benefit of this method is that if you are using the same scene in several sections of your Story Map the scene will only load once, which will make the transitions between slides smooth.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s best to <strong>use the generic ArcGIS domain<\/strong> (www.arcgis.com) in your web scene URL rather that your organization&#8217;s domain (myorg.maps.arcgis.com) as this can cause a problem accessing your web scene if anonymous access to your organization is disabled. Also be sure to <strong>use\u00a0https<\/strong> in the URL\u00a0if your organization&#8217;s security policy settings require it.
