Read on to see the new features to take advantage of.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Heat Maps<\/strong><br \/>\nWith the current smart mapping functionality, users can create choropleth and graduated symbol visualizations. We just added the ability to create heat maps to show clusters of phenomena on the ground, like the map below of <a href=\"http:\/\/opendata.arcgis.com\/datasets\/0fd99282ab1b466bb41c2da868f4aa8f_0?geometry=144.937%2C-37.817%2C144.991%2C-37.807&amp;mappedField=BICYCLIST&amp;selectedTheme=0&amp;heatmap=true&amp;orderByFields=ALCOHOLTIME+ASC&amp;filterByExtent=true&amp;uiTab=table\" target=\"_blank\">bicycle crashes in Melbourne<\/a>. Administrators can enable this capability on their sites to give citizens more visualization options.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/opendata.arcgis.com\/datasets\/0fd99282ab1b466bb41c2da868f4aa8f_0?geometry=144.937%2C-37.817%2C144.991%2C-37.807&amp;mappedField=BICYCLIST&amp;selectedTheme=0&amp;heatmap=true&amp;orderByFields=ALCOHOLTIME+ASC&amp;filterByExtent=true&amp;uiTab=table\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-54730\" src=\"https:\/\/www.esri.com\/arcgis-blog\/app\/uploads\/2015\/09\/heatmap.png\" alt=\"Bicycle crashes in Melbourne\" width=\"1211\" height=\"423\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Google Analytics<\/strong><br \/>\nAdministrators can add their Google Analytics Tracking ID into the admin application to have their metrics funnelled directly to their Google Analytics account with no further configuration required. Paths for finding search, dataset views, and download counts are <a href=\"http:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/open-data\/provider\/configure-your-open-data-site.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_564FACD5005D4F0A9F3D0F42A0E038FD\" target=\"_blank\">outlined in the documentation<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Additional Download Files<\/strong><br \/>\nAdministrators can now add additional download files to attach to their datasets \u2014 this is a way to provide a file geodatabase or a CAD download for your users. This workflow leverages the download distributions added to your metadata in ArcGIS Online. Any new download distributions will appear in the dataset download section in ArcGIS Open Data. Help is outlined in the <a href=\"http:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/open-data\/provider\/prepare-your-data.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_3BCB1D7E697F4F4F8F3D3D109B0312D0\" target=\"_blank\">Open Data documentation<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-54731\" src=\"https:\/\/www.esri.com\/arcgis-blog\/app\/uploads\/2015\/09\/downloads.png\" alt=\"Additional download files\" width=\"278\" height=\"295\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Exposed Metadata Dates<\/strong><br \/>\nThe published date from a dataset&#8217;s formal metadata will now be surfaced in ArcGIS Open Data. This gives administrators greater control of providing details on their datasets.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>Umbrella Search Experience<br \/>\n<\/strong>We&#8217;ve altered the way users search on our umbrella page, <a href=\"http:\/\/opendata.arcgis.com\">opendata.arcgis.com<\/a>. Users have an improved experience to search for over 31,000 open datasets in a specific location.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/opendata.arcgis.com\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-54735\" src=\"https:\/\/www.esri.com\/arcgis-blog\/app\/uploads\/2015\/09\/umbrella.png\" alt=\"ArcGIS Open Data\" width=\"1436\" height=\"506\"
