Start Here!"},"author":5951,"featured_media":0,"parent":0,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"_searchwp_excluded":""},"categories":[23341,23851,22851,22931,22941],"tags":[25891,25351,22901,23391],"industry":[],"product":[36571],"class_list":["post-69871","blog","type-blog","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-analytics","category-data-management","category-national-government","category-imagery","category-mapping","tag-arcgis","tag-big-data","tag-national-government","tag-spatial-analytics","product-arcgis-enterprise"],"acf":{"short_description":"When people think about managing data, I can\u2019t imagine anything as intimidating to an IT person as imagery data.\u00a0 Why you may ask?\u00a0 B...","flexible_content":[{"acf_fc_layout":"content","content":"<p>When people think about managing data, I can\u2019t imagine anything as intimidating to an IT person as imagery data.\u00a0 Why you may ask?\u00a0 Because the file size is large, very large, the formats can be unfamiliar, and after you&#8217;ve acquired it, people want access to it immediately.\u00a0 Imagery data can be so large in fact, that the first time I heard people regularly using the word \u2018Terabyte\u2019 was in conjunction with imagery data, and quickly it moved to \u2018Petabytes\u2019.\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.esri.com\/en-us\/arcgis\/products\/imagery-remote-sensing\/overview\">Remotely sensed data<\/a> originates from many different types of sensors\u2026multiple countries have their own satellites, aircraft equipped with cameras, drones, weather balloons, go pros\u2026the list goes on and on. \u00a0In addition, you have all the different types of data i.e. Optical, Multispectral, Radar, Lidar.
