We had our <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.esri.com\/esri\/arcgis\/2016\/06\/23\/introducing-survey123-for-arcgis-2\/\">first general availability release back in June<\/a>. All along our beta program tradition was to release updates every month, and we would not want to break that tradition now. So here\u00a0 you have, a month later, our 1.6 release!<\/p>\n<p>As usual, you can update your Survey123 mobile app from the <a href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=com.esri.survey123\">Google Play<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/us\/app\/survey123-for-arcgis\/id993015031\">iTunes<\/a> app stores. If you use the Survey123 app on your desktop, the new setups for Windows, Mac and Ubuntu Linux are available on our <a href=\"http:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/survey123\/download\/\">Survey123 download page<\/a>.\u00a0 From the download page you can also get the latest version of <a href=\"http:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/survey123\/download\/\">Survey123 Connect for ArcGIS<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Here is what is new in 1.6:<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Integration with Workforce for ArcGIS<\/span><\/strong>: You can now configure your Workforce for ArcGIS projects to launch the survey of your choice right from the Workforce mobile application. This makes data capture with Survey123 much more\u00a0 convenient: field users keep track of their to-do lists in Workforce, and with a single tap Survey123 will pop with the exact survey needed to get the job done. The <a href=\"http:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/survey123\/desktop\/get-answers\/faqgetanswers.htm#anchor9\" target=\"_blank\">Integration with Workforce for ArcGIS<\/a> help topic describes step by step how to make this happen.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><em>Note: The Workforce for ArcGIS mobile application is currently available on iOS only. Android and Windows versions are coming soon.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Localization<\/span><\/strong>: While the Survey123 Hub at survey123.arcgis.com and help is in English only, both Survey123 Connect and the Survey123 mobile app are localized into the following languages: Arabic, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Estonian, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Latvian, Lithuanian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Portuguese (Portugal), Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Simplified Chinese, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, Traditional Chinese (Taiwan), Traditional Chinese (Hong Kong), Turkish, and Vietnamese.\u00a0 This update includes numerous localization enhancements.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Better offline map support<\/span><\/strong>: The 1.6 release includes several key fixes and better documentation for configuring your survey with ArcGIS tile\u00a0 packages. In short, you can author your offline basemaps in ArcGIS for Desktop (ArcMap or ArcGIS Pro) as tile packages, upload them into your Portal for ArcGIS or ArcGIS Online, and then associate them with\u00a0 your survey. The <a href=\"http:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/survey123\/desktop\/create-surveys\/preparebasemaps.htm\">Prepare basemaps for offline use help topic<\/a> describes the process in detail.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Documentation<\/span><\/strong>: The documentation now gives help for both the desktop and browser workflows for creating and using surveys. At the top of each topic there is a switch for viewing a Desktop or Browser version of the topic. Some topics might be only available for Browser or Desktop. That means the functionality is only available in that environment.<br \/>\nIf you have some links saved to your favorite doc pages that no longer work, you might need to update them. To enable the switching we had to add a new level to the topic names. For example:<br \/>\nhttp:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/survey123\/create-surveys\/xlsformessentials.htm is now http:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/survey123\/desktop\/create-surveys\/xlsformessentials.htm<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s all for this update.
