You get direct access to the new functions and tools that are used to manage, analyze and visualize multidimensional data. You can also quickly chart multidimensional data using the temporal profile<strong>,<\/strong>\u00a0which has been enhanced with spatial aggregation and charting trends.<\/p>\n<h2>New tools for multidimensional management and analysis<\/h2>\n<p>We&#8217;ve added three new tools to analyze your time series raster data:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Determine when or where a given statistic was reached using the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/pro.arcgis.com\/en\/pro-app\/tool-reference\/image-analyst\/find-argument-statistics.htm\">Find Argument Statistics.<\/a> <\/strong>For example, you can identify when maximum precipitation occurred over 10 years of data. Included with the Image Analyst and Spatial Analysts extensions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Estimate the trend for each pixel along a specific dimension for multiple variables with the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/pro.arcgis.com\/en\/pro-app\/tool-reference\/image-analyst\/generate-trend-raster.htm\">Generate Trend Raster<\/a>. <\/strong>For example, you might use this to understand how sea surface temperature has changed over time. Included with the Image Analyst extension.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Perform predictive modelling with your data cube using the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/pro.arcgis.com\/en\/pro-app\/tool-reference\/image-analyst\/predict-using-trend-raster.htm\">Predict Using Trend Raster<\/a>.<\/strong> This can help you predict the extent of a future El Nino event based on trends in historical sea surface temperature data. This tool is also available with all ArcGIS Pro license Python capabilities<\/h2>\n<p>Developers can take advantage of new classes, new functions, and new methods and properties added to the <a href=\"https:\/\/pro.arcgis.com\/en\/pro-app\/arcpy\/classes\/raster-object.htm\">Python raster object<\/a> that allow you to work with multidimensional rasters.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/pro.arcgis.com\/en\/pro-app\/arcpy\/image-analyst\/an-overview-of-image-analyst-classes.htm\">New classes:<\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>ia.RasterCollection<\/strong> &#8211; The\u00a0RasterCollection\u00a0object allows a group of rasters to be sorted and filtered, and prepares a collection for additional processing and analysis.<\/li>\n<li><strong>ia.PixelBlock<\/strong> &#8211; The\u00a0PixelBlock\u00a0object defines a block of pixels within a raster to use for processing. It is used in conjunction with the\u00a0PixelBlockCollection\u00a0object to iterate through one or more large rasters for processing.<\/li>\n<li><strong>ia.PixelBlockCollection<\/strong> &#8211; The\u00a0PixelBlockCollection\u00a0object is an iterator of all\u00a0PixelBlock\u00a0objects in a raster or a list of rasters. It can be used to perform customized raster processing on a block-by-block basis, when otherwise the processed rasters would be too large to load into memory.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/pro.arcgis.com\/en\/pro-app\/arcpy\/image-analyst\/an-overview-of-the-image-analyst-functions.htm\">New functions include:<\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>ia.Merge<\/strong> &#8211; Creates a raster object by merging a list of rasters spatially or across dimensions.<\/li>\n<li><strong>ia.Render<\/strong>&#8211; Creates a rendered raster object by applying symbology to the referenced raster dataset.
