You can select <strong>Rerun analysis<\/strong> from the result layer to reopen and rerun the analysis workflow. \u00a0This blog outlines three potential scenarios where you may want to use the <strong>Rerun analysis<\/strong> function.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-81979 noIMGBackground\" src=\"https:\/\/www.esri.com\/arcgis-blog\/app\/uploads\/2017\/06\/rerun.png\" alt=\"Rerun analysis from a result layer\" width=\"423\" height=\"122\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Keep analysis up-to-date<\/h2>\n<p>ArcGIS Online supports access to live data feeds, such as GeoRSS. \u00a0As your data changes, you can use <strong>Rerun analysis<\/strong> to keep your results up-to-date.<\/p>\n<p>Even if your data is not updated through a live feed, you can still rerun your analysis with the most recent data by updating the input layer before rerunning.<\/p>\n<h2>Update the parameters<\/h2>\n<p>When you rerun an analysis tool in ArcGIS Online, you have the ability to change all of the parameters, including input layers. \u00a0This flexibility makes it easy for you to perform repetitive analysis with slightly different parameters. \u00a0For example, if you are analyzing the drive-time area for fire trucks in your city, you may want to know how much your fire trucks will be affected by differences in traffic. \u00a0You can rerun the <a href=\"http:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/arcgis-online\/analyze\/create-drive-time-areas.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Create Drive-Time Areas<\/a> tool using traffic data for different days of the week and times.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_81990\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-81990\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.esri.com\/arcgis-blog\/app\/uploads\/2017\/06\/ezgif.com-video-to-gif.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-81990 noIMGBackground\" src=\"https:\/\/www.esri.com\/arcgis-blog\/app\/uploads\/2017\/06\/ezgif.com-video-to-gif.gif\" alt=\"Rerun Create Drive-Time Areas\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-81990\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Rerunning the Create Drive-Time Areas tool using different traffic conditions.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2>Share your analysis<\/h2>\n<p>The <strong>Rerun analysis<\/strong> function means that you can share the steps in your analysis along with the results. \u00a0When you share a result dataset, other users can use <strong>Rerun analysis<\/strong> to reopen the tool pane, view the parameters that were used to create the result, and rerun the tool themselves.<\/p>\n<p>It is important to note that a tool opened using <strong>Rerun analysis<\/strong> will reference the original input layers by default. \u00a0If the input layers are not available, then a warning icon will be displayed next to the input layer. \u00a0The input layers can be updated to use a different layer and the tool can still be rerun. \u00a0If you want to share your results for the purpose of allowing others to rerun your analysis using the same input layers, then you should make sure to share your inputs as well.<\/p>\n"}],"authors":[{"ID":6771,"user_firstname":"Vicki","user_lastname":"Cove","nickname":"Vicki Cove","user_nicename":"vickilynncove","display_name":"Vicki Lynn Cove","user_email":"VCove@esri.com","user_url":"","user_registered":"2018-03-02 00:18:48","user_description":"Vicki Lynn Cove is a documentation writer for Map Viewer analysis and ArcGIS Insights at Esri's Research and Development Centre in Ottawa, Canada.
