contains new features for working with custom data, or to get techie: <strong>Statistical Data Collections (SDCX)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Here are the new custom data features at 2.5:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Build SDCX files with <strong>no locally installed<\/strong> Business Analyst dataset<\/li>\n<li>Use your own <strong>Apportionment Layers<\/strong> to control the granularity of your analyses<\/li>\n<li>Build SDCX<strong> Performance Indexes<\/strong> to speed up processes<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Let&#8217;s quickly walk through these to learn more&#8230;<\/p>\n"},{"acf_fc_layout":"content","content":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1>SDCX files with no local data<\/h1>\n<p>You can now work with Business Analyst <a href=\"https:\/\/pro.arcgis.com\/en\/pro-app\/help\/analysis\/business-analyst\/setting-business-analyst-data-source.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">without installing<\/a> a local dataset or connecting to online data.<\/p>\n<p>Here are a few benefits:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You can build any boundary file into an SDCX file for use in <a href=\"https:\/\/pro.arcgis.com\/en\/pro-app\/tool-reference\/business-analyst\/enrich-layer-advanced.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Enrich Layer<\/a><\/li>\n<li>You can build SDCX files in any country or continent<\/li>\n<li>You can avoid installing a local dataset, which in the US is approximately 90GB<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These capabilities support new ways of working with Business Analyst where traditional demographics aren&#8217;t found.\u00a0 Bathymetry layers?\u00a0 National Parks?\u00a0 Oil fields?\u00a0 Shipping ports?\u00a0 All possibilities.<\/p>\n<p>Here are a handful Layers<\/h1>\n<p>You can now use your own <a href=\"https:\/\/pro.arcgis.com\/en\/pro-app\/help\/analysis\/business-analyst\/data-apportionment-and-layers.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">apportionment layers<\/a> in your SCDX data.\u00a0 Apportionment layers are point features containing values about <em>how much of something<\/em> is in a location.\u00a0 These points are used to estimate how much data are within larger features.<\/p>\n<p>By default, Business Analyst uses <a href=\"https:\/\/www.census.gov\/programs-surveys\/geography\/about\/glossary.html#par_textimage_5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Census Block Points<\/a> with weighted values, such as population or households counts.<\/p>\n<p>If you are school district, for example, you might have a geocoded layer containing homes where students live.\u00a0 The weighted value is the number of students per household.\u00a0 You can use this layer to more accurately determine the demographics of the district.<\/p>\n<p>Below is an example showing standard Census Block Points and a more granular custom apportionment layer &#8211; home locations with the count of students residing
