users moving to ArcGIS Pro and building add-ins with the <a href=\"http:\/\/pro.arcgis.com\/en\/pro-app\/sdk\/\">ArcGIS Pro SDK<\/a>.\u00a0 The Pro SDK <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.esri.com\/esri\/arcgis\/2017\/06\/20\/arcgis-pro-sdk-at-uc-2017\/\">tech sessions<\/a> provided a great opportunity for the Desktop SDK team to discuss the many 2.0 updates.\u00a0 As always, we let attendees know that we\u2019re building the Pro SDK based on user needs and requirements, and that <strong>w<\/strong><em><strong>e need your feedback<\/strong>.<\/em>\u00a0 The best time to provide feedback is usually after you\u2019ve completed a development effort and have an understanding of the patterns and scope of the SDK.\u00a0 <strong>We look forward to hearing from you in the <a href=\"https:\/\/geonet.esri.com\/groups\/arcgis-pro-sdk\">ArcGIS Pro SDK Group<\/a> on GeoNet!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Previously, we posted on some of the Pro SDK 2.0 <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.esri.com\/esri\/arcgis\/2017\/06\/27\/whats-new-in-the-arcgis-pro-2-0-sdk\/\">new additions<\/a> as well as on <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.esri.com\/esri\/arcgis\/2017\/07\/05\/arcgis-pro-sdk-updates-at-2-0\/\">updates and changes<\/a>.\u00a0 Now let\u2019s take a closer look at some of the new capabilities, with many API enhancements to support your work in the areas of Raster, Geodatabase, Mapping, Geometry, Content Management, and Editing.\u00a0 There are also updates to the Pro SDK&#8217;s styles, brushes and colors.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>API and Styling Updates<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>As with every release, the Pro SDK is expanding with new API classes, methods, etc.\u00a0 One of the most significant is the addition of a new Raster namespace.\u00a0 Also, new styling updates allow for an improved and more consistent look to your UI customizations.<\/p>\n<h3><em>New Raster Namespace <\/em><\/h3>\n<p>There is a new set of Raster functionality, provided through a new Raster namespace and Mapping namespace enhancements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/pro.arcgis.com\/en\/pro-app\/sdk\/api-reference\/#topic15346.html\">ArcGIS.Core.Data.Raster namespace<\/a> \u2013 Work with raster datasets, in-memory rasters, pixel blocks and cursors<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/pro.arcgis.com\/en\/pro-app\/sdk\/api-reference\/#topic11266.html\">ArcGIS.Desktop.Mapping namespace<\/a> \u2013 Work with raster layers and colorizers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>New Raster documentation and samples:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/esri\/arcgis-pro-sdk\/wiki\/ProConcepts-Raster\">ProConcepts<\/a> and <a classes<\/a> implemented as Interfaces which allow for better unit testing.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/pro.arcgis.com\/en\/pro-app\/sdk\/api-reference\/#topic16119.html\"><img loading=\"lazy\" height=\"354\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3><em>Styling Updates<\/em><\/h3>\n<p>There have been updates to the Pro brushes, colors and SDK styles.<strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/esri.github.io\/arcgis-pro-sdk\/content\/brushescolors\/colors.html\">Esri Colors<\/a> \u2013 updates for colors<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>SDK Templates and Visual Studio 2017 Support<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3><em>Map Pane Impersonation<\/em><\/h3>\n<p>A new template has been added for map pane impersonation, allowing you to work with a custom pane which interacts with the Table of Contents.\u00a0 See the <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/esri\/arcgis-pro-sdk\/wiki\/ProGuide-Map-Pane-Impersonation\">new Map Impersonation ProGuide<\/a> for more information and a walk-through using the template.<\/p>\n<p>Also, a new community sample for map impersonation is found <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/Esri\/arcgis-pro-sdk-community-samples\/tree\/master\/Map-Exploration\/ImpersonateMapPane\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3><em>Visual Studio 2017<\/em><\/h3>\n<p>As mentioned earlier, the Pro SDK now provides support for Visual Studio 2017, with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/Esri\/arcgis-pro-sdk\/wiki\/ProGuide-Installation-and-Upgrade\">SDK installation directly from the Visual Studio Marketplace.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.esri.com\/arcgis-blog\/app\/uploads\/2017\/07\/ArcGIS-Pro-SDK-Visual-Studio-Marketplace1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-83909\" src=\"https:\/\/www.esri.com\/arcgis-blog\/app\/uploads\/2017\/07\/ArcGIS-Pro-SDK-Visual-Studio-Marketplace1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"995\" height=\"443\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2><strong>New Community Samples<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>There are many new Visual Studio samples ready for you to try out in the 2.0 release.\u00a0 All of the 100+ community samples have been fully updated for use with Pro 2.0 including the latest API and styling updates.\u00a0 Each of the samples is a full Visual Studio solution, ready for you to run and incorporate into your projects, and each includes a walk-through guide to help you get started.<\/p>\n<p><a
