An exciting feature of the ArcGIS Business Analyst Web App<\/a> is the ability to create and publish infographics to your organization. Infographics are an engaging and dynamic way to communicate key facts, maps, and indicators. To expand upon this capability, you can integrate your infographics to Esri Story Maps to build an immersive web experience.<\/p>\n

In this blog, we\u2019ll demonstrate how to publish your Business Analyst infographics into a story map. The following instruction includes a step-by-step tutorial to create a similar story map as the one shown above. Please note: the example we use is for the state of Arizona, but feel free to use any other geography area you want.<\/em><\/p>\n

Step 1: Define Your Areas<\/h3>\n

First, you need to define study areas you are interested in.<\/p>\n

  1. Sign into ArcGIS Business Analyst Web App<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  2. Click Maps > Define Areas > Select Geography > Select From Full List > Counties.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  3. In the Select Geography<\/strong> dialog box, select Arizona<\/strong> from the list of states.<\/li>\n
  4. Select checkboxes of the desired counties.<\/li>\n
  5. Select No<\/strong> to combine geographies.<\/li>\n
  6. Click Next<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  7.     Step 2: Create an Esri Story Map Cascade with Infographics<\/h3>\n

    In this step, we will assume that you are using an infographic from \u201cStandard\u201d infographics, which are available to you by default. If you want to create custom infographic templates, please follow the instructions in this documentation<\/a>. If you want to add an infographic from the Infographic Gallery Template, go to the \u201cMy Templates<\/a>\u201d section of the same documentation.<\/p>\n

    You are now ready to select a story map template, select the study areas you defined in the previous section, and add infographics.<\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Go to Maps > Share Results > Story Map<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    2. In the Story Map<\/strong> dialog, click Get Started<\/strong>. (If you selected to skip this step previously, you will bypass this step.)<\/li>\n
    3. Select Cascade<\/strong> template.<\/li>\n
    4. Select Add Sites<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    5. In the Add Sites<\/strong> dialog, select the study areas you defined in the previous section. Please note you can add up to 100 sites.<\/em><\/li>\n
    6. In the Configure Items<\/strong> dialog, uncheck Maps<\/strong>. (You can choose to add maps in the future, but in this demo, we will focus on infographics.)<\/li>\n
    7. Select the checkbox next to Infographics<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    8. From the dropdown that shows up, select an infographic of your choice. For this tutorial, I will select the \u201cCoronavirus Impact Planning,\u201d one of the latest templates added to support impact planning for COVID-19.<\/li>\n
    9.       1. Back in the s<\/strong>tory map<\/strong> dialog, click Next<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
      2. In the next dialog, add a title and click Create<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
      3. Click I\u2019m Done<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Toward the bottom of the screen, you should see a notification that your StoryMap is being created. Once the story map has been created, you will see a new dialog. Click to View Story Map<\/strong> .<\/p>\n

        Step 3: Edit Story Map<\/h3>\n

        Now that you have successfully created a story map, you are ready for the final touches.<\/p>\n

        1. Click Edit<\/strong> located on the top-right corner of your StoryMap to launch the Builder mode.<\/li>\n

            3. Scroll through the rest of the story map to see if there is any item you want to reorder or edit. In this example, I want to remove the containers repeating similar information as the infographic headers.               1. Once you are satisfied with the edits, click the Save<\/strong> icon (shown as a floppy disk) on top of the left panel to save.<\/li>\n
              2. Then select the Publish<\/strong> icon (shown as a globe) on the same row.<\/li>\n
              3. Click to Preview<\/strong> (shown as an eye on top left) to view the website. Scroll down to see the infographics you added.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                To share, you can click on the share icon located on the top right of the Preview mode or the Builder mode. Clicking Share<\/strong> launches a pop-up window for options to copy the URL, share via social media, and the ability to take HTML code of your story map to embed in other web sites.<\/p>\n
