Alongside many other enhancements, this release brings new features and functionality to the product to expand your analytical workflows.<\/p>\n<p>In today\u2019s blog, we\u2019ll focus on five new analytical features now available in ArcGIS Enterprise: custom web tools, clustering, hosted feature layer views, tools for distributed analytics, and new scene viewer styles. (Also, be sure to <a title=\"What's new in ArcGIS Enterprise 10.6\" href=\"https:\/\/blogs.esri.com\/esri\/arcgis\/2018\/01\/17\/whats-new-in-arcgis-enterprise-10-6-overview-pt-1\/\" target=\"_blank\">visit yesterday&#8217;s blog<\/a> for highlights on what else is new in 10.6.)<\/p>\n<h1>Share custom analytics with your organization<\/h1>\n<p>You can now share <strong>custom web tools<\/strong> directly from ArcGIS Pro to your ArcGIS Enterprise portal.<\/p>\n<p>Web tools are an update to the traditional way of publishing geoprocessing services; unlike traditional geoprocessing services, web tools can be accessed from the portal\u2019s standard analysis tools.<\/p>\n<p>This makes custom analytics easier to access by everyone in your organization. In line with this new capability, a new privilege has been introduced with 10.6 to allow publishing of web tools &#8211; meaning an administrator role is no longer needed!<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s an example of a custom web tool published from ArcGIS Pro that can now be shared and run through the ArcGIS Enterprise portal&#8217;s Map Viewer:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.esri.com\/esri\/arcgis\/2018\/01\/18\/whats-new-in-arcgis-enterprise-10-6-analysis-tools\/analysistools\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-96987\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-96987 noIMGBackground\" src=\"https:\/\/www.esri.com\/arcgis-blog\/app\/uploads\/2018\/01\/analysistools.png\" alt=\"A custom web tool in ArcGIS Enterprise\" width=\"996\" height=\"570\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Learn more: <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.arcgis.com\/en\/portal\/latest\/use\/custom-tools.htm\">Explore custom web tools<\/a><\/p>\n<h1>Declutter your web maps with point clustering<\/h1>\n<p>The extremely popular <strong>clustering smart mapping style<\/strong> is now available within ArcGIS Enterprise. This renderer automatically clusters data points that have a close geographic proximity to one another. Clustering helps you create beautiful maps that display general trends when zoomed out and exact data points when zoomed in.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s an example of green roofs in the city of Chicago. Unclustered point data is side-by-side clustered data. You can see how, at a glance, the information is easy to digest when in a clustered format. (We\u2019ve also configured popups using an Arcade expression to tell us how many green roofs there are in a cluster!)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.esri.com\/esri\/arcgis\/2018\/01\/18\/whats-new-in-arcgis-enterprise-10-6-analysis-tools\/pointclustering\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-96988\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-96988 noIMGBackground\" src=\"https:\/\/www.esri.com\/arcgis-blog\/app\/uploads\/2018\/01\/pointClustering-1024x563.png\" alt=\"Point clusters in ArcGIS Enterprise\" width=\"640\" height=\"351\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Learn more:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.arcgis.com\/en\/portal\/latest\/use\/configure-clustering.htm\">Discover more about point clustering<\/a><\/p>\n<h1>Hosted feature layer views<\/h1>\n<p><strong>Hosted feature layer views<\/strong> are now available in ArcGIS Enterprise. By creating a view of your feature data, you can choose which groups it is shared to and apply different editing settings and other privileges. You can also configure feature or field definitions to control what information is exposed through the view.<\/p>\n<p>To begin configuring a view, navigate to \u2018View\u2019 on the source layer and set a title and tags. A new hosted feature layer (view) will be created, where you can then set your custom settings for that view:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.esri.com\/esri\/arcgis\/2018\/01\/18\/whats-new-in-arcgis-enterprise-10-6-analysis-tools\/createview\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-96990\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-96990 noIMGBackground\" src=\"https:\/\/www.esri.com\/arcgis-blog\/app\/uploads\/2018\/01\/createView-1024x604.png\" alt=\"Creating a view in ArcGIS Enterprise\" width=\"640\" height=\"377\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.arcgis.com\/en\/portal\/latest\/use\/create-hosted-views.htm\">Learn how to configure views<\/a><\/p>\n<h1>New distributed analytics tools<\/h1>\n<p>New tools are available within the distributed analytics capabilities of ArcGIS Enterprise. GeoAnalytics Server includes three new tools: <a href=\"http:\/\/enterprise.arcgis.com\/en\/server\/latest\/get-started\/windows\/geoanalytics-detect-incidents.htm\">Detect Incidents<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/enterprise.arcgis.com\/en\/server\/latest\/get-started\/windows\/geoanalytics-geocode-locations-from-table.htm\">Geocode Locations from Table<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/enterprise.arcgis.com\/en\/server\/latest\/get-started\/windows\/geoanalytics-calculate-field.htm\">Calculate Field<\/a>. Raster analytics includes six new hydrology functions to help model the flow of water across a surface, and four new tools to analyze distance and proximity.<\/p>\n<p>Here, using GeoAnalytics, we&#8217;re running the new Detect Incidents tool to identify hurricanes that have a pressure over 1,000 mbar. Since we selected \u2018only incidents,\u2019 we\u2019ll only see hurricanes that meet that condition. This isolates certain data so we can visualize it better and\u2026detect notable incidents!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.esri.com\/esri\/arcgis\/2018\/01\/18\/whats-new-in-arcgis-enterprise-10-6-analysis-tools\/distranalytics\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-96993\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-96993 noIMGBackground\" src=\"https:\/\/www.esri.com\/arcgis-blog\/app\/uploads\/2018\/01\/distrAnalytics-1024x474.png\" alt=\"The Detect Incidents tool in ArcGIS GeoAnalytics Server\" width=\"640\" height=\"296\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h1>Scene viewer styles<\/h1>\n<p>New point styles are available in the Enterprise scene viewer to visualize point data more effectively. The Relative-to-Scene elevation mode, Callouts, Improve Perspective and Set Declutter options all help you tell your 3D story more easily. Here\u2019s an example of a Vancouver scene, where we\u2019ve toggled callouts on.
