Overview


As a product manager and leader in telemetry and product performance measurement, we invite you to join Esri in leading the future of products and technologies that connect customers with world-class GIS software. This position is responsible for building, managing, and overseeing software telemetry across the SaaS, PaaS, and customer-hosted products in the ArcGIS system. Your work will provide critical information to our product managers and product marketers, helping them to build world-class software.

As someone with expertise in product performance measurement and software product management, you have experience and demonstrated success in providing insight, strategic direction, recognition of market opportunities, and sparking innovation through close collaboration with software product development. You have extensive experience in collaborating with customers, developing technical expertise, and fostering productive relationships within teams.

Responsibilities


  • Develop requirements for a telemetry system to be used in over 100 products of various types that will be used to inform key product management decisions
  • Continually gather and prioritize telemetry requirements from Product Management Leadership with special attention paid to the intended downstream reporting and analysis use cases for the data
  • Collaborate with and advise Product Managers on the inclusion of and capabilities associated with the telemetry system relevant to their products
  • Collaborate with other metric-based efforts across many product development teams
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with Esri's data collection, privacy, and reporting policies
  • Prepare and presents the teams results and product roadmaps to your team and to Esri leadership
  • Communicate technical information and discuss requirements with product managers, developers, designers, and marketers
  • Develop Esri's Telemetry product as a PaaS offering for Esri Developers to employ in solutions they build for their end users

Requirements


  • 2+ years experience in software product management or product engineering
  • Experience with gathering telemetry data and using it to inform software product development
  • Technical expertise, ideally with a variety of software architectures including PaaS, customer-hosted, and SaaS
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work well with remote management and staff
  • Excellent interpersonal, writing, presentation, and leadership skills
  • Requirement for travel 10-20% of the time for strategic meetings, events and/or tradeshows
  • Bachelor's in computer science, engineering, or another relevant field

Recommended Qualifications


  • Master's in computer science, engineering, or another relevant field
  • Experience with telemetric components in software, SaaS, or PaaS
  • Experience and certifications with the in Pragmatic Marketing Framework

Base salary is one component of our total rewards strategy. Compensation decisions and the base range for this role take into account many factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

A reasonable estimate of the base salary range is
$83,200-$145,600 USD
