Join our exceptional team of software developers, designers, Product and Documentation engineers that build Esri CityEngine, an industry-leading expert 3D city creation tool. CityEngine is used around the world by urban planning departments and architecture studios, as well as by award-winning special effects companies and animation studios.

At the Esri R&D Center Zurich, we are seeking a skilled product engineer for the creation of promotional materials and learning resources, quality assurance (QA) and customer support.

Responsibilities


  • Produce promotional materials (3D scenes, imagery, movie clips, blog entries) by creating urban design and planning examples using ArcGIS CityEngine and other Esri Tools.
  • Author and maintain content for documentation, learning materials and tutorials.
  • Test new features and maintain shipped functionality, identify weak spots and potential problems, isolate and report bugs in a clear and concise manner, and work with the development team to resolve these issues. Engage with our user base via forums and meetings to support and learn about their needs.
  • Collaborate with product designers and developers to build new features.

Requirements


  • Self-reliant team player with can-do attitude
  • Experience in outreach work (presentation, writing, evangelization, interacting with users)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • 4+ years of professional experience with GIS, CAD, BIM, or other 3D software
  • Passion for quality, detail oriented, and knowhow to break software by finding bugs
  • Knowledge of urban design, planning, or architectural workflows, or the ability and willingness to learn about it
  • Master’s degree in geomatics engineering, urban planning, architecture, or a related field
  • Existing work authorization for Switzerland

Recommended Qualifications


  • 2+ years of industry experience in software quality assurance (QA)
  • Background in urban design and planning
  • An eye for aesthetics in order to create impactful visuals for educational or marketing materials
  • Scripting knowledge for data processing and test automation
  • Familiarity with ArcGIS CityEngine, ArcGIS Urban and ArcGIS Pro
