Overview


We are looking for an application developer to join Esri Support Services team. Our team builds and manages self-service applications such as the Support website, Esri Support mobile app, and Generative AI chatbot to help customers find answers to technical question about Esri products. As an Application Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing technical solutions specifically for improving customer’s support experience. You will be working on applications developed using JavaScript and Python, along with integrating APIs and databases. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in software development, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality solutions.

Responsibilities


  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications utilizing Python
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to define requirements and develop solutions
  • Experience with version control systems, such as Git
  • Conduct thorough testing to ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of applications
  • Document and communicate the design and functionality of applications
  • Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in Python development and related technologies
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to a collaborative development environment
  • Customize existing Python libraries to meet specific needs

Requirements


  • Bachelor’s in computer science, software engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum 1+ years of experience in software development with strong proficiency in Python
  • Experience with front-end technologies, such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like React is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of Python frameworks, such as TensorFlow, and libraries such as NumPy, Beautiful Soup
  • Knowledge of Generative AI concepts, chatbots, and LLM frameworks such as LangChain
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (such as AWS, Azure) and containerization technologies (such as Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus
  • Knowledge of relational databases such as SQL, and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Base salary is one component of our total rewards strategy. Compensation decisions and the base range for this role take into account many factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

A reasonable estimate of the base salary range is
$66,560-$104,000 USD
