Overview


Our scene layers team focuses on creating scalable 3D content and visualize it in all ArcGIS apps, such as ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS API for JavaScript, and ArcGIS Earth. This team works to build and grow functionality around the open, OGC-standard I3S, and 3D GIS allowing our users to unleash The Science of Where®!

As a product engineer, you will help test and improve workflows for 3D layers like scene layer. To educate our users about new functionality you will create and update documentation for the i3s specification and ArcGIS Pro SDK. Your focus will be on new 3D capabilities across the ArcGIS platform, including desktop, server, and web, to continuously improve the user experience and accelerate our processes to deploy new 3D technology.

Responsibilities


  • Tooling to write and extend the i3s specification documentation
  • SDK documentation, samples, and tutorials
  • Learn existing product technologies and troubleshoot production issues in current and past software platform versions
  • Collaborate with software developers and product engineers to build and test functionality for current and future 3D layers
  • Build and maintain test scenarios that validate scene layers technology
  • Work closely with other teams to assure integration of scene layers into the platform

Requirements


  • 2+ years of experience using C#
  • Analytical problem-solving ability
  • Good organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with others
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field

Recommended Qualifications


  • Experience using C++
  • Familiarity with Esri ArcGIS platform technologies
  • Knowledge of 3D visualization techniques and how to test them in different environments
  • 2+ years of experience with web technologies, such as JSON, REST, or JavaScript
  • Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field
