Overview


 

Put your programming skills to the test as you work alongside senior staff to design and develop the next generation of Esri's innovative software.

Responsibilities


Esri interns contribute to real projects and are mentored by team members along the way. Some of our technically-oriented interns have worked on a wide range of exciting projects such as: 

  • Research state of the art methods or approaches that can be used to improve the software or solve a new problem  
  • Help design, test, and document new functionality in ArcGIS products 
  • Develop use cases that show the value of spatial analysis in solving important problems that we face as a society 
  • Write blog posts or learn lessons that explain how to use ArcGIS to accomplish a well-defined goal 
  • Be part of building the world’s leading GIS software from the ground up  

Program Timeline

  • Applications Accepted: September 1 - December 31, 2023 at 5:00 pm PST
  • Interviews: Students selected for phone interviews will be notified by email on a rolling basis October 2023 - January 31, 2024
  • Internship: 12 weeks beginning in late May or June

Requirements


  • We seek students who are majoring in GIS or Geography and are currently enrolled in a 4-year Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program at a university in the United States; undergrads must be a junior or in senior standing 
  • Knowledge and experience in ArcGIS 
  • Software testing or scripting skills are a bonus! 
  • Ability to obtain work authorization in the United States in 2024 
  • Able to complete a 12-week internship beginning in May or June 2024

The pay range for this internship takes into account education level and previous relevant work experience to include specialized skill sets. Interns who meet minimum qualifications during their internship may also qualify for 401(k) and profit share.

 

A reasonable estimate of the base pay range is $30.00 - $35.50.
