Business Analyst-Product License Entitlement Management

Provide technical license configuration expertise in identifying, evaluating, and implementing product plans in support of back-office product configuration. 


  • Act as a subject matter expert in software productization and license entitlements configuration through collaborations, technical document analysis, and product knowledge
  • Elicit product licensing requirements from multiple sources using interviews, document analysis, product plans, business process descriptions, use cases, and business analysis to reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract general understanding from low-level information, and collaborate with requestors on meaningful solutions
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate releases, including product management, planning, customer service, and technical teams
  • Plan and execute back-office product configurations of product licenses and entitlements
  • Drive and challenge business units on their assumptions and how they will successfully execute their plans
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts to simplify and improve back-office product configurations


  • 3+ years of direct work experience as a business analyst
  • 3+ years of enterprise resource management (ERP) experience
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a highly scheduled environment
  • Familiarity with the standards of technical writing
  • Understanding of product lifecycle management
  • Understanding of license entitlement techniques and management 
  • Process-driven analysis skills and background in various requirement discovery methods
  • Strong facilitation skills to elicit requirements from various personalities across organizational boundaries including senior executives
  • Ability to understand technical terminology and communicate it in layman’s terms
  • Demonstrated experience driving consensus across multiple stakeholders
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to work effectively with clients, team members, and management
  • Ability to analyze and document complex business processes
  • Professional experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Adept at conducting research into project-related issues and products
  • Bachelor’s in business, computer science, or related field, or equivalent relevant work experience

Recommended Qualifications

  • 5+ years of direct work experience on teams as a business analyst
  • 5+ years of material, license, and entitlement configuration and related work experience
  • SAP work experience
  • SalesForce work experience
  • Scrum and/or project management certifications
  • Product license entitlement experience
