Overview


Esri Press publishes books and tutorials on GIS, cartography, and the application of spatial analysis. In this role, you will collaborate with leadership to establish, investigate, and analyze strategies, processes, and policies, to ensure efficiency at all levels of the business. The result being Esri Press grows its sales and expands its user adoption and awareness of Esri, Esri products, and GIS.

Responsibilities


  • Monitor inventory levels and sales trends, both domestically and internationally, with our book distributors
  • Forecast timelines for publication dates, implement and track decisions, evaluate specifications, and make strategic adjustments based on the market and demand
  • Determine fill-up order quantities for book distributors and work with Esri operations to re-supply
  • Develop business continuity between Esri Press and operations on cost modeling, consumption, inventory, and lifecycle
  • Liaise between the business units and the corporate finance areas
  • Conduct regular review of sales processes and provide input on how they may be improved or streamlined
  • Identify any gaps in process or financial risks and provide recommendations to minimize such risks
  • Provide analytical support for new business initiatives
  • Collaborate with the Operations Manager on task workflows and assignments, and regularly audit for efficiency
  • Manage third-party metadata for new book titles, PR/PO requests, contract requests for authors, vendors, and licensees, and approve contract & royalty payments
  • Compile image and data permissions expenses and monitor renewals
  • Manage various projects and ad-hoc requests to support the business

Requirements


  • 3+ years of supporting business operations and business analytics experience; publishing experience preferred
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and the ability to build consensus with multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with key stakeholders and leadership through email, documentation, and presentations
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Bachelor’s in business administration or a related field
