Overview


In this hybrid business-technical role, you will work with leadership and business units to understand information need, document strategic and operational needs, identify and remediate capability gaps, design tooling, and architect improvements to the landscape. You will work closely with other enterprise teams to define shared standards and practices and leverage common infrastructure and security. You will also be responsible for design and documentation of the architectural vision; conceptual, logical, and physical models; ER diagrams;, data flows; and process models. You will also create and shepherd requests through their lifecycle. This is an opportunity to interact with both technical partners (ETL developers, integration developers, data stewards, DBAs, architects), business partners, and leadership.

Responsibilities


  • Work collaboratively as part of the data governance (EDMG) team to improve the information landscape, create information models, drive continuous improvement, implement new data sources, and lead/facilitate data-driven business projects
  • Partner with internal teams to develop and support effective data/knowledge management solutions
  • Secure the movement of sensitive information in a manner consistent with company policy
  • Work extensively with data analysts/architects to understand enterprise processes and models
  • Deliver high quality designs, models, roadmaps, documents, and other deliverables
  • Understand and implement compliant solutions meeting regulatory and internal guidelines
  • Review and audit data quality and information management activities
  • Create, maintain, and publish technical documentation, runbooks, and standards

Requirements


  • 5+ years of experience in a data development and architectural role
  • 3+ years of experience in a business analyst, process SME, or program leadership role
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills 
  • Ability to set individual/team priorities and plan to complete tasks and organizational objectives 
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Expertise in multiple relevant topics such as data warehousing, master data management, data security, information design, analytics and data science, and knowledge management
  • Knowledge of data management best practices, processes, tools, standards, and methodologies
  • Knowledge of the development and management required for ETL, ELT, REST, and SOAP implementations
  • Experience in at least one major foundational language such as SQL, Python, R, C#.NET, Java, or JavaScript
  • Development experience with RDBMS (Microsoft SQL Server)
  • Experience developing/managing a cloud data environment
  • Bachelor’s in business, information management, computer science, or related field

Recommended Qualifications


  • Master’s in information design, analytics, cyber security, business specialty, or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in an architect role designing and implementing enterprise-scale data solutions
  • 2+ years of experience designing and supporting cloud infrastructure
  • Understanding of common frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman, ArchiMate)  
  • Experience with commercial solutions used for API management
  • Working knowledge of core business platforms (SAP, Salesforce, Adobe, Microsoft) 
  • Knowledge of data structures, data warehousing, data visualization, statistics, and analytic models 
  • Ability to analyze and document complex business processes and project details
  • Design/development experience with non-relational databases (NoSQL, Graph, Hadoop, S3/blob storage)
  • Experience with MuleSoft, LogicApps, Azure Data Factory, and/or SSIS
