Overview


An energetic and resourceful individual is needed to provide the product business management team with high-quality data collection and collaboration relating to Esri’s intellectual property (IP) licensing program. These licensed technologies, patents, copyrights, and content are utilized throughout the ArcGIS family of products. There is a significant need to compose a well-managed, accurate IP database to mitigate Esri’s legal and fiduciary risks while simultaneously providing an accurate and searchable repository of granted permissions, use restrictions, and product enablement.

 

The stakeholders include software development, product engineering, product management, finance, and legal. You will directly support product managers and development leads to help ensure management of IP is correct.

Responsibilities


  • Provide data librarian functions for Esri’s licensed IP used throughout ArcGIS
  • Implementation of library support services relating to licensed IP, its source, permitted use, product enablement, and additional salient points
  • Summarize and distribute contract summaries and assemble them in a central repository/DB
  • Partner with contracts department to ensure contract details are accurately shared throughout the company
  • Liaise extensively to identify and collect accurate information regarding IP use
  • Assist with administration, analysis, and reporting of use of licensed IP including components utilized and applicable costs
  • Collaborate with colleagues to provide data management training for software development and product management staff
  • Coordinate extensions and renewals of licensed IP

Requirements


  • Rigorous attention to detail and demonstrated experience in reporting of information
  • Ability to organize, coordinate, and direct projects within and across departments
  • Flexibility to meet changing business objectives and the ability to multitask and set priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and relationship-building skills
  • Bachelor’s in business, library science, information systems, computer science, or related field

Recommended Qualifications


  • Familiarity with contracts or SAP
  • Experience in information/content management, with knowledge of geospatial, GIS, or intellectual property
