Our UX/UI team is on a mission to create, inspire, and influence user-centered design at Esri and beyond. We’re looking for you to bring your creative management knowledge to build on our operational foundations achieved so far. By strategically focusing on people, process, and culture, you will help us move towards a productive, healthy, and brighter future. You will design and implement systems that support our UX/UI leadership, so they can plan for what’s coming next, think strategically, demonstrate the value of design, and our team of designers can… well you know, design.


  • Partner with our UX/UI manager, team leads, and teammates, as well as researchers, strategy partners, project managers, content creators, and developers to make recommendations for an environment that supports optimal design execution.
  • Actively participate in strategic planning and prioritization meetings, share updates on team goals and capacity, and make recommendations for improving productivity and operations.
  • Setup, manage, and drive project plans and timelines for internal design programs and initiatives such as large-scale design improvement goals.
  • Evaluate design project requirements to set the stage and initiate the iterative design processes to accommodate critical phases from discovery and research to complex asset creation such as live maps, animations, and video.
  • Regularly review and analyze information and data that demonstrates the return on investment of our team's design efforts for monthly updates and end-of-year reporting.
  • Support optimal utilization and administration of Figma-based design system. Make recommendations to enhance and streamline team experience utilizing Figma, and other technologies such as remote, ready-to-use tools such as hardware, software, and repositories.
  • Maintain our UX/UI team website to keep it relevant with strategic content that tells our story.
  • Identify, share and implement the latest DesignOps practices at scale to support team learning and development.
  • Support UX/UI employee experience in talent engagement and managing new employee onboarding.
  • Support and promote our internship program and alumni engagements as well as identify exciting guest speaking opportunities at design events.
  • Craft community-building communication both internally and externally to champion change and help make the uncomfortable feel comfortable.
  • Be our design evangelist—have an opinion, use your voice, mentor others, deploy your ninja facilitation skills, and share the value of well-managed design processes.


  • Bachelor's or master's degree in design, user experience, interaction design, or a related field such as business, applied social science, media, and digital marketing
  • 2-5 years working as a creative professional in design, managing commercial photography, video production, or digitally optimized content creation, or a related field
  • 2-4 additional years of experience specializing in building and growing the capacity, productivity, and culture of modern design teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of design and project management tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe, Monday, Asana, Workfront, Jira)
  • Working knowledge of project management, operations, change management, and organizational behavior
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills as well as presentation skills
