Overview


Hundreds of thousands of people, most of them GIS specialists, are combining maps and rich multimedia content to tell stories using ArcGIS StoryMaps. Join us in the creation of a new digital storytelling product targeted to non-specialist audiences

 

You’ll collaborate with product designers to create and maintain an attractive and consistent visual identity across the product, its website, and other communications materials. You’ll also work with a talented team of editorial specialists, cartographers, developers, and marketing professionals within the ArcGIS StoryMaps team and interact with other design and communications teams at Esri.

Responsibilities


  • Create static graphics, illustrations, and short animations for the website, social media posts, email templates, mobile app, and blog posts
  • Work with professional storytellers and cartographers to create charts and infographics for story maps
  • Collaborate on the creation of instructional videos about using the technology as well as storytelling best practices
  • Maintain a library of assets from which the team can draw for presentations, webinars, and other marketing/communications needs
  • Assist with the development of brand identity for the product and ensure fidelity to this identity across all platforms and communications
  • Work within project timelines, resources, and objectives

Requirements


  • 2+ years of experience in designing for digital platforms
  • Possession of creative flair, versatility, and conceptual/visual ability
  • Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio
  • Skilled with design programs such as Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator
  • Skilled with video editing and motion graphics programs such as Adobe Premiere and AfterEffects
  • Experience with branding and design best practices for a direct-to-consumer product focused on social media posts, email campaigns, and marketing videos
  • Ability to thrive in highly collaborative team setting
  • Willingness to learn on the fly, stay current on latest digital media trends, and experiment with new design and animation techniques
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree
