Overview


Are you passionate about geospatial APIs and SDKs? Are you curious about how things work (and why they don't)? Do you love getting the details just right? If you answered yes to all those questions you could be our next ArcGIS Runtime SDK Product Engineer. We’re looking for talented software product engineers to join us in our mission to enable native app developers with comprehensive mapping and geospatial SDKs and a premium developer experience. In this role you will work on improving the developer experience with the SDK and on communicating best patterns and practices through sample code and doc, plus you will get the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional and API teams to support the design, implementation, and validation of new features.

Responsibilities


  • Design, write, and peer-review sample code that showcases ArcGIS Runtime features with the latest .NET technologies
  • Author API reference doc, Guide doc, and developer tutorials
  • Apply a DevOps mindset to ensuring the quality of public-facing code and maximizing value through re-use in multiple channels
  • Help manage the lifecycle of sample code and sample viewer apps to ensure best patterns and practices
  • Create compelling demos that showcase key geospatial workflows and highlight new product features
  • Collaborate with feature teams to validate new API designs and functionality
  • Continuously assess product performance, quality, and release readiness
  • Interact and collaborate with our users in the Esri Community to resolve issues, gather feedback, and ensure a great developer experience
  • Support the evangelism of ArcGIS Runtime with engaging blogs, videos, and other media
More experienced individuals will:
  • Work closely with internal product development teams to understand and influence upcoming technologies, features, and tools in the ArcGIS system
  • Immerse themselves in complex user workflows and define solutions by working closely with customers
  • Thoughtfully contribute to SDK product roadmap responsibilities
  • Assist with implementation designs and product architecture definition
  • Analyze the delivery process and suggest new techniques that will help continuously improve software quality and release timeline

Requirements


  • Knowledge of development with one or more .NET frameworks or app platforms (WPF, UWP, Xamarin, WinUI, MAUI)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong time management, prioritization, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
  • Hands-on experience with Esri ArcGIS software or other geospatial technology
  • Passion for exploring and experimenting with the latest developer technologies and building innovative solutions
  • Ability to rapidly understand new technology concepts and apply them accurately within an evolving and dynamic environment
  • Bachelor’s or master’s in computer science, mathematics, GIS, or a related field, depending on position level

Recommended Qualifications


  • Ability to design great application user experiences
  • Experience architecting and designing software products
