Human Resources Information Systems Business Analyst II

Overview

Business analysts play a key role in supporting our internal customers and driving application and business process transformation. We welcome you to join our dynamic team and work with passionate analysts, developers, and business users to solve key system-related problems and improve existing processes. You will partner with Human Resources and Payroll to reshape the way HR Information Systems (HRIS) support our business.

Responsibilities

• Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, business analysis, and task and workflow analysis
• Evaluate gathered information to identify and reconcile conflicts, to decompose high-level information into details, and distinguish wants from true needs
• Proactively communicate and collaborate with clients and technical teams to prioritize requirements, evaluate potential solutions, define a proposed solution, propose quick fixes, identify risks, and develop model business processes
• Create and revise analysis artifacts and deliverables as needed such as business requirements, functional requirements, use cases, business rules, business process models
• Successfully engage in multiple, simultaneous initiatives
• Work independently with clients to define concepts as per direction of project managers
• Drive and challenge business units on their assumptions and how they will successfully execute their plans
• Perform and support integration and acceptance testing
• Learn the multiple HR/Payroll systems that HRIS supports to perform enhancement configuration changes
• Become a data expert on HR/Payroll employee data by understanding data exception reports and data audits to ensure data accuracy in all systems

Requirements

• 3-5 years of direct work experience on teams as a business analyst supporting mission-critical business applications
• Process-driven analysis skills and background in various requirement discovery methods
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage complex issues
• Strong facilitation skills to gather requirements from various personalities across the organization including senior executives
• Proven experience in driving consensus across multiple stakeholders
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to work effectively with clients, team members, and management
• Understand technical jargon and possess the ability to communicate it to non-technical colleagues
• Ability to analyze and document complex business processes
• Independent self-starter who can work with minimal direction and isn’t afraid to make recommendations to improve processes
• Ability and willingness to work in Pacific or Mountain time zones
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in information technology, human resources, or business administration

Recommended Qualifications

• Experience with HR and Payroll systems such as iCIMS, SuccessFactors, or Dayforce
• Payroll processing experience
• Benefits administration
• Intermediate/advanced knowledge of MS Excel is highly desired
• Knowledge of MS Access or SQL
• Experience with reporting tools such as Power BI, Crystal Reports, Cognos, Business Objects
