Overview


Apply your remote sensing and imagery analytics experience to help our Living Atlas of the World team build new and dynamic content. You will design and deploy massive raster libraries and develop new raster functions to help users get to specific analysis results quicker. You’ll also be part of teaching users how to leverage dynamic imagery content and image processing in new ways supporting natural resources, sustainable development, and government industries.

In this role, you will work with content development and product engineer leads who are designing and developing production solutions, applications, and blogs and creating geospatial learning opportunities. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a project team leading the development of complex, state-of-the-art content systems for airborne and space analytics.

Responsibilities


  • Test and deploy imagery products to the Living Atlas of the World
  • Develop, test, verify, and validate function rasters against imagery content to support industry groups analysis capabilities
  • Work in a team environment to provide imagery analysis support to staff/customers through participation in focused projects and releases
  • Support the development and operation of automated and manual update processes to improve imagery usage by multiple industry groups
  • Contribute to the Living Atlas Indicators for the Planet by working on new and innovative techniques to summarize global topics using imagery analysis as its core

Requirements


  • 2-5 years of experience in image processing and/or radar signal processing
  • Experienced with concepts such as interferometry and other radar applications
  • A strong drive and interest to learn and launch new content quickly and work in a fast-paced development environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Bachelor's or master's in GIS, remote sensing, physics, applied mathematics, computer science or related field, depending on position level

Recommended Qualifications


  • Hands-on imagery experience developing and automating imagery analytics
  • Direct experience using Landsat, Sentinel, and MODIS products for multi-spectral analysis
  • Experience with ArcGIS, ENVI, ERDAS IMAGINE
  • Experience using Jupyter Notebooks and Python
  • Experience building story maps to help create place-based narratives
