Learn ArcGIS Technical Project Manager

Overview

Be responsible for providing project planning and management for established technical initiatives, website features, releases, under-the-hood tools, and processes for successful deliverables. You will ensure that projects are completed to specification and within an established time frame and budget where applicable. Our technical project managers are subject matter experts on non-GIS technology development lifecycles and integration concerns who use their industry expertise to improve all aspects of project planning and resource management. Success in this role is all about taking large- and small-scale technical ideas and solution concepts and effectively making them a reality.

Responsibilities

• Manage communication, milestones, and coordination between stakeholders and supporting teams such as web development and framework, IST, creative lab, localization, and distributors
• Coordinate, manage, and track the development of new Learn ArcGIS features, tools, forms, Hubs, and accompanying processes for delivery
• Triage and manage work items for the team and its collaborators using issue management tools such as GitHub and ZenHub
• Create planning and supporting documents for work items that are actionable and well-defined
• Align and prioritize the work of collaborating teams with the overall goals and long-term vision of Learn ArcGIS
• Apply technical skills and knowledge to make effective decisions during the development of new Learn ArcGIS features

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a lead project manager focused on design, information architecture, and implementation
• 1+ years of experience building web apps and web pages; working knowledge of core web technologies such as HTML, JavaScript, and CSS
• Familiarity with modern web development best practices in addition to agile and scrum development processes
• Able to organize, prioritize, and technically describe in detail the needs and tasks of multiple teams; ability to conceptualize and communicate a holistic view of all projects and an understanding of the priorities across projects
• Bachelor’s in computer science, GIS, project management, or related field
