Overview


If you are passionate about digging into legacy processes to improve business transactions, understanding systems and leveraging them, and providing hands-on support to your staff to develop them, this is the role for you.

Responsibilities


  • Manage a team of staff accountants; this includes playing a key role in developing the accounting team and department strategic initiatives
  • Manage accounting operation activities including Assets and Royalties
  • Provide ongoing variance analysis as part of our continuous accounting methodology
  • Lead process improvement initiatives to gain efficiencies and improve internal controls; this also includes documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Manage the month-end and year-end close processes including preparing and reviewing journal entries and supporting reconciliations
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting

Requirements


  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Familiarity with accounting financial statements with the ability to prepare and analyze financial statements
  • High level of attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and ability to prioritize demands and meet deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including diplomacy, negotiating, reasoning, and problem solving
  • Ability to develop strong analytical skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret business needs
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Power Query, Power Pivot, and pivot tables
  • Bachelor’s in accounting (advanced degree preferred)

Recommended Qualifications


  • 7+ years of progressive experience in corporate accounting including 2+ years of management
  • CPA license or in process on license
  • Experience with international entities and foreign currency
  • Experience with SAP or other large ERP system
