Overview


As an experienced marketer within environmental science, you will support Esri’s Chief Scientist by coordinating, executing, and monitoring communications in both internal and external community channels. You will leverage your communications experience to assist with building community among external stakeholders, ensuring the successful coordination of activities. You'll also coordinate content and responses on our external corporate science communications platforms such as GeoNet and social media, as well as internal community channels. Up to one-half of your time will also be spent collaborating with and supporting our sustainable development and nonprofit communities by producing social media and content marketing.

Responsibilities


  • Manage corporate science social media accounts and ensure an ongoing stream of relevant and engaging content
  • Coordinate the corporate science GeoNet community site, building the space into a destination site for the science community; direct community questions to stakeholders and over time field some questions yourself
  • Assist with regular updates to the corporate sciences portfolio
  • Monitor internal newsletters from corporate and product marketing and other internal channels; contribute to these channels to keep internal teams aware of corporate science news and events
  • Coordinate administrative and logistical support to ensure key community-building engagements are executed flawlessly, such as keynote presentations at science conferences, where you will ensure that conference organizers have presentation materials, speaker bio, and other information they require
  • Provide content marketing support to the sustainable development and nonprofit industry solutions team in the form of social media, community page content, and other storytelling-focused content that promotes the work of Esri users who are working to make the world more sustainable

Requirements


  • 2+ years of communications experience, preferably in the space of environmental science
  • Superior time management, resource management, and project management skills
  • Highly organized and strongly self-motivated with the ability to multi-task activities with shifting priorities
  • Outstanding drive and follow through
  • Quick learner with a positive attitude
  • Strong decision-making, problem resolution, and creative thinking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor's in environmental science, marketing, business, geography, or related field (strong preference for GIS minor or certificate and science communication training); master's preferred

Recommended Qualifications


  • Familiarity with sales and marketing automation systems such as Pardot and Adobe Analytics
  • Demonstrated skill with social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube along with social media management apps such as HootSuite
