Native App Developer II - Field Apps

If you were here in the last few months, some of the things you would have done are:

• Participate in the development effort on a feature project team to create new features for our apps that are fit for purpose
• Added new functionality to existing web app that is fit for purpose
• Explored capabilities of machine learning and created prototype apps that can make use of offline models to assist data collection in the field
• Participated in field testing of the apps you and your teammates created to experience first-hand the features that would be used by customers

Responsibilities

• Develop market leading software for use in field mapping, data collection, sensor networks, street navigation, and much more
• Design and develop focused native apps that meet the requirements of a broad range of users
• Design responsive and intuitive user interfaces for mobile and desktop apps using cross platform app building technologies
• Collaborate with other programmers and developers throughout the development process
• Define user requirements; design and develop applications and APIs for devices and web based services
• Solve and articulate complex problems with application design, development, and user experiences

Requirements

• 2+ years’ of commercial software development experience
• Skilled in and passionate about C#, .NET, JavaScript, HTML, Python, SQL
• An interest in user experience and interface design
• Cross platform app development
• Object oriented design skills
• Understanding of algorithms and design patterns
• Experience with GitHub, Jenkins, Microsoft App Center
• Ability to work closely with the team to build quality software in a constantly evolving environment
• Effective time management and organizational skills
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) to clearly articulate the reasons behind design decisions and code implementation,
• Bachelor’s in computer science, engineering, mathematics, GIS, or related field, depending on position level (master’s preferred)
• Existing work authorization for Australia

Recommended Qualifications

• Experience with at least one of the following: C/C++, Java/Kotlin, Objective C, Swift, Blazor
