Overview


The managed cloud services team provisions and enables the ArcGIS platform in Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure for our customers worldwide. In this role, you’ll work to deploy and support customer ArcGIS deployments in AWS/Azure by helping automate and streamline our operations; build and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring, and operations; and optimize processes to troubleshoot and resolve issues in customer environments; research and develop solutions using new cloud technologies to add value to existing deployments and develop new offerings.

Responsibilities


  • Work in a multi-disciplinary team environment to deploy cloud solutions for a wide range of commercial; utility; natural resources; federal, state, and local government; and other customers.
  • Deploy, administer, monitor, and troubleshoot ArcGIS Enterprise-based solutions in cloud environments, such as AWS and Azure.
  • Implement and validate solution changes, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum operational efficiency.
  • Be proactive in recognizing and handling uptime and performance challenges.
  • Engage with development, QA, and product teams in bringing cases to resolution.
  • Troubleshoot the system and provide root cause analysis.
  • Provide rotational 24/7 on-call technical support.

Requirements


  • 3+ years of experience designing, implementing, and administrating enterprise GIS solutions/systems that leverage the ArcGIS platform (desktop, enterprise, and online).
  • Proficiency with the Esri product line, including ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, and related desktop extensions.
  • Excellent organizational skills, verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to interact directly with customers who do not have an IT background.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills with the ability to think quickly.
  • US citizenship and ability and willingness to obtain a security clearance.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s in computer science, information systems, or GIS.

Recommended Qualifications


  • 1+ years of experience designing, administering, and/or maintaining cloud environments, such as Azure or AWS, supporting 24×7 high-availability production environments.
  • Experience hosting business mission-critical production environments with high up-time service level agreements.
  • Programming and scripting experience with Python, PowerShell.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL, PostgreSQL and/or other RDBMS.
  • Experience working with change-regulated environments (e.g., development, staging, and production).
