The mission of the Employee Development and Training department is to provide continuous and relevant learning opportunities that foster employee professional development and enhance Esri’s overall organizational effectiveness. As a member of this team, you’ll partner with business leaders and key stakeholders to develop and facilitate programs that drive employee engagement and provide performance improvement.


  • Establish and manage key business and partner relationships to understand the talent implications of organizational strategies
  • Identify root causes for and conduct needs analyses of performance and development gaps
  • Recommend, design, and deliver learning and talent management solutions in support of strategic initiatives and priorities
  • Provide expertise in the development of training content and implementation of enterprise-wide initiatives
  • Facilitate in-person and virtual training programs, workshops, and other learning events to support professional development needs
  • Communicate training topics effectively by properly understanding the needs of the audience and targeting sessions to meet their knowledge and skill level
  • Plan and detail training project strategies, objectives, and timelines to create a developed and effective curriculum design
  • Develop tools and resources that reinforce training and enhance learning application
  • Evaluate training outcomes, utilizing survey feedback and other key metrics to analyze and track program success and ROI
  • Assist with the design and implementation of large-scale, company-wide HR initiatives
  • Source and partner with vendors and external consultants to address learning and/or organizational development needs
  • Research and remain current on new OD and Training methodologies, trends, and best practices
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and results, handling day-to-day responsibilities while working on longer-term strategies and programs
  • Work independently as well as in a team environment, exercising good judgment with excellent follow-through


  • 2+ years of demonstrated experience in training and development (e.g., facilitation, instructional design, evaluating training effectiveness, teambuilding sessions, etc.)
  • Knowledge of training methodologies including the ability to understand and implement adult learning theory and practices when designing curriculum and facilitating training
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience, with superior attention to detail and the ability to organize and express ideas clearly
  • Demonstrated analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with a results-orientation
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently and proactively     
  • Exceptional emotional intelligence, with a demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams and roles, building successful relationships and partnerships at all organizational levels
  • Excellent customer service skills, demonstrating an enthusiastic and positive attitude
  • Ability to travel periodically
  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Business, Organizational Development, Human Resources, or related field

Recommended Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Business, Organizational Behavior, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Organizational Leadership, or related field
  • Proven knowledge and abilities in the principles and practices of organizational development
  • Demonstrated program/project management and change management skills
  • Strong technical experience and aptitude to learn new applications
  • Experience using SuccessFactors Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Strong business acumen
