Performance Engineer - Cloud Infrastructure

As a member of the performance engineering team, you will be developing, maintaining, and monitoring cloud infrastructure that monitors ArcGIS Pro performance and usage. Your contributions will help maintain and improve a cloud pipeline that uses a wide range of AWS and Azure services. You will assume administrative responsibilities API Gateways, S3 storage, various EC2 instances, scripting, and monitoring of data as it’s processed. You will use AWS and Azure administrative portals for infrastructure creation, configuration, and monitoring. There is extensive use of Python and Pandas throughout the pipeline.


  • Deploy, administer, monitor cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure) to support ETL pipeline
  • Maintain and enhance cloud infrastructure (Azure and AWS) and related automation
  • Investigate and diagnose issues
  • Assist/collaborate with performance engineering team members as they maintain and develop new capabilities in the pipeline


  • 1+ years of experience working with Windows administration and automation using tools such as PowerShell
  • Familiar with Linux administration and automation using Shell, bash script, or Python
  • Hands on experience with ArcGIS Pro and other Esri technology
  • Strong desire to learn new skills and technology
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Bachelor’s in computer science, applied mathematics or a related field, depending on position level (master's preferred)

Recommended Qualifications

  • Experience using Pandas for ETL workflows
  • Familiar with security and identity management within AWS and Azure
  • Familiar with cloud infrastructure creation, administration and monitoring
  • Knowledge of relational databases such as SQL Server
  • Familiar with interacting with REST APIs using curl scripts
  • Familiar with PowerBi reporting
  • Knowledge of Jenkins
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience with delivery of a SaaS product
  • Familiar with Azure and/or AWS cloud services and administration
  • Knowledge of Jenkins
