Overview


Come join our UX/UI team where you will craft and validate designs for our web-mapping application. ArcGIS Map Viewer. The Map Viewer allows users to view, explore, and create interactive web maps in ArcGIS Online and is used to tell stories, answer questions, and solve real world problems. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with other designers and product development to enable organizations that connect people, locations, and data using interactive maps that drive positive change in the world.

Responsibilities


  • Work with developers, product managers, and other cross-functional team members to design end-to-end mapping experiences using participatory and iterative design techniques
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to identify requirements and specifications for the development of new and established features
  • Craft personas, user journeys, information architecture diagrams, wireframes, and prototypes
  • Identify enhancements based on research (usability testing, scenario writing, study moderation and observation with prototypes and fully developed projects) for the new Map Viewer
  • Work with leadership and stakeholders to suggest and implement improvements for team processes
  • Be a design leader, ensuring that others understand the value and effectiveness of user-centered design
  • Stay fresh on new technologies and trends in GIS and the web design space

Requirements


  • 8+ years of experience designing for enterprise software, or similar experience
  • High proficiency with accessibility and a desire to learn more
  • Proven proclivity toward self-ownership and driving results beyond your expected duties for the good of the product and team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Leave ego at the door, making way for data-driven empathy and a collaborative work ethic
  • Bachelor's degree in human factors, HCI, graphic design, or related field 
  • An online portfolio that demonstrates your design abilities, how you think, and a strong understanding of client objectives

Base salary is one component of our total rewards strategy. Compensation decisions and the base range for this role take into account many factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

 

A reasonable estimate of the base salary range is $114,400.00 - $189,280.00.
